I've Missed YOU!

So...our 365 Days of Praise DAILY ATTRIBUTE blog post for 2016 came to a close. But, I still think of you every evening - when I would typically compose the post; and every morning as I continue to kneel and use one of God's attributes as the springboard for my prayers. My tattered 2016 Prayers of My Heart journal is a diary of prayers, praises, repentance, intercessions, and notes and thoughts I've had in my prayer time with the Lord.

I couldn't wait to open my NEW journal and write 2017 in anticipation of all God will do this year. I can't WAIT to see His blessing unfold, Him provide, defeat Satan, and do exceedingly beyond what I might imagine or think.

On TUESDAY, JAN 10, 12-1:00, I'm hosting a PRAYER JOURNALING WORKSHOP at our KERRVILLE MINISTRY OFFICE, 1127 E Main Street, 1st floor conference room. COME & LEARN how journaling your prayers can be a blessing and celebration of God in your life. Call or email to let us know you're coming - 888.815.9412 or debbie@debbietaylorwilliams.com. Please RSVP by this Friday, Jan 6.  There is no charge to attend, but we need to know you're coming!

Today, Lois Shaw, a dear sister in Christ, came by the office to get her 2017 Prayers of My Heart. My heart was warmed by her comments on how the Prayer Journal Workshop last year helped her know how to use the journal and the blessing it has been in her life to journal.

Then, after Lois left, I received an email from a sister-in-Christ who had this to say, "I want a Prayer Journal for myself and am going to send one to my boyfriend in Kuwait." I was so touched...thinking of one of our own in Kuwait who will be journaling his prayers and recording God's answers. You can be sure he will be in my prayers!

SO...maybe you've never recorded your prayers, or you've tried and it hasn't "been your thing." However, we never know when God is turning a page in our life and opening a new door of communication and communion with Him. It's not too late to give journaling a try.  If you're local, come to the Workshop next Tuesday. Otherwise, order your journal and watch the tips on my web site.  You can also reply to this email/blog post if you'd like to come to the Workshop. Or, perhaps I can bring it to your church!

I pray you have a BLESSED 2017!

Love, Debbie

WHO IS, WHO WAS, & WHO IS TO COME

Grace to you and peace, from Him WHO IS and WHO WAS and WHO IS TO COME...”

Revelation 1:4

Have you been in awe of the magnificient beauty of the rare super moon?  According to AccuWeather, super moons happen when the moon is in the Perigee side of its orbit around earth. This puts the moon 30,000 feet closer to earth, making it bigger and brighter than usual. November 14, 2016, the moon was at its closest to earth since 1948 and it won't be as close to again until November 25, 2034.*

The moon - IS - something that exists. The moon - WAS - created by God in eternity past. The moon- IS TO COME tomorrow and the next day and in 2034. We acknowledge it. We believe it existed in times past. We believe it will exist. So why would we doubt that Christ the Creator is the LORD WHO IS, WHO WAS and WHO IS TO COME? Rather than doubt the existence of Christ Jesus, let us be in awe of ONE who creates such beauty to govern our nights.

Let us be in awe and worship the One who offers us grace and peace. What a mighty God we have.

Lord, WHO IS, WHO WAS, AND WHO IS TO COME, we praise and worship You!

Praise to Our WELL-PLEASING Savior

“When He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, ‘This is My beloved Son with whom I am WELL-PLEASED.’”

2 Peter 1:17

Picture the scene. The fisherman, Peter, James, and his brother, John and Jesus. Four guys. Jesus wanted to take a hike, so off they went.  Jesus led the way. It was a high mountain. It was an ordinary day.

Then, everything changed. Two more arrived. The ordinary was made extraordinary.

Now it was 6:  Jesus, Moses, Elijah, Peter, James, John.

It must have been powerful...Elijah and Moses's eyes meeting Peter, James, and John's eyes.

Then...

there were 7!

God interrupted, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!" The three men "fell face down to the ground and were terrified." Mt 17:6

Among the myriad of power packed messages in this passage, that Jesus was well-pleasing to His Father is our focus today. What had Jesus done and said to this point that caused His Father to be WELL-PLEASED? What can we glean from Jesus so we, too, please our Heavenly Father?

Jesus used Scripture to stand against Satan's temptations. We can do that.

Jesus shared His Father's kingdom principles, how to be forgiven, and how to be saved. We can do that.

Jesus was sensitive to others and reached out to them. We can do that.

Jesus looked up in prayer and thanked His Father for hearing Him. We can do that.

Ordinary days. Ordinary men. Hiking. Bowing. Meeting with God. Walking with Jesus. We can do that.

Heavenly Father, as Jesus was well-pleasing to You, through Christ in us, help us please You.

Praise for God's Voice of POWER

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name;

Worship the Lord in holy array.

The voice of the Lord is upon many waters;

The God of glory thunders,

The Lord is over many waters.

The voice of the Lord is powerful.

Psalm 29:1-4

Have you ever noticed how a child responds to one person's voice...

but perhaps ignores another's?

God's voice is powerful. He speaks and when we turn around...

...we can't help but ascribe to Him the glory due His name.

If we feel like we don't hear God speaking, maybe it's because we're too preoccupied. Like the child engrossed with his toys, maybe we're engrossed with our homes, work, even ministries. God's voice is rich in love and power. If we feel we don't hear God speaking, maybe we need to listen with our eyes.

Lord God, You are the VOICE OF POWER who spoke our world into existence and life into our spirits. We give You praise, honor, and glory!

Praise to Our JEALOUS LORD

“—for you shall not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God—”
Exodus 34:14

I love it when God says, "this is my name." Then, in case we aren't paying attention, He repeats Himself. "Hellooooo! Is anybody listening? I'm jealous when you worship other gods. Don't do it!"

Heavenly Father, You are JEALOUS for my affection and worship. Please help us remember to not put other people, other interests, other affections before You, our precious Lord and Savior.
