Praise to the Lord, Our INHERITANCE

05/28/2017

“The Lord is the portion of my INHERITANCE and my cup; You support my lot.”

Can you imagine being told that a relative you barely knew had passed away and left you all his money? “That’s nice of Uncle Fred,” you might say, thinking of the last time you’d seen him with his common clothing and car. But then, the executor of the estate continues, “Congratulations! You’re a billionaire!” Stunned, you realize that you never knew all that Uncle Fred possessed. Psalm 16:5 is such a comment to the Christian. “Congratulations! You’ve inherited Christ, His Holy Spirit, divine nature, mind, power, and heaven!” Friends, that ought to set our feet to dancing and put a smile on our face. Do we realize all we have in Christ? Or, are we bemoaning what we don’t have? Today, we can rejoice in CHRIST – our INHERITANCE!

Lord, You are our INHERITANCE; what more could we want? We love You, praise You, and rejoice in YOU!

Praise to GOD, INFINITE IN UNDERSTANDING

05/27/2017

“Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is INFINITE.”

Psalm 147:5

Have you ever said, “I don’t understand why….”? Or, “I can’t understand how…”? One of the ways God is described is INFINITE IN UNDERSTANDING. In other words, his understanding is limitless, endless, impossible to measure. When we consider God’s ability to understand us, another person, or a situation; we must bow in awe.

We praise you Lord, for your INFINITE UNDERSTANDING.

3 Strategies to Protect Soft Targets

05/27/2017

Ariana Grande's “Dangerous Woman” world tour turned inside out May 22.

“Take your time. There’s no problem here,” can be heard on a loud speaker as panicking people scream, “oh god.”  Neither statement means anything. “There’s no problem” wasn’t true.  “Oh god” is slang.

Praise to the INDESCRIBABLE GIFT

05/26/2017

“Thanks be to God for His INDESCRIBABLE GIFT.”

2 Corinthians 9:15

Have you ever been called a “gift”?

The apostle Paul describes Jesus as a gift. Why? Wrapped in the Lord Jesus Christ’s atoning death on the cross is the INDESCRIBABLE GIFT of grace, salvation, righteousness, and so much more!

Who is the recipient of God’s INDESCRIBABLE GIFT?

We are. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus can be saved.

When my husband, Keith, gives me a gift, I love to wear it, share it, and enjoy it. Are we wearing, sharing, and enjoying the INDESCRIBABLE GIFT God’s given us in Jesus?

“We praise you, Jesus, God’s INDESCRIBABLE GIFT”!

Praise to INCORRUPTIBLE GOD

05/25/2017
“and exchanged the glory of the INCORRUPTIBLE God for an image in the form of corruptible man…”
God is INCORRUPTIBLE. That means He is immortal. Christ’s body did not undergo decay in the tomb. Though His body was beaten, struck, pierced, nailed to a cross, and Christ gave up His Spirit; His body didn’t decay in the tomb. He physically rose from the grave. His Father is INCORRUPTIBLE and immortal. Jesus is INCORRUPTIBLE and immortal. What should be our response? Wonder. Awe. Worship.

Lord God, You are INCORRUPTIBLE. May we be careful to place You above everything and honor You with our lives.

Praise to the IMPREGNABLE ROCK

05/24/2017

“He will dwell on the heights, his refuge will be the IMPREGNABLE ROCK;”

Isaiah 33:16

Do you ever need a refuge; a place you can go that is higher than yourself; a place where you can scale the heights and look at life from a different, more eternal perspective? We all do. The daily grind can become just that – a grind. The thrill of the chase ends. The romance changes. The kids grow up. The job ends. The money runs out. The other side wins. Sin gets the best of us. What then?

The one who loves and follows Christ, finds refuge in the IMPREGNABLE ROCK. In Christ, we scale beyond our current cirucumstances and see life with an eternal perspective. In Christ, we have a place of solidity on which to stand.

Can someone who is not a follower of Christ understand our refuge in the IMPREGNABLE ROCK? Probably not. But maybe if we show them the way, they will discover Him for themselves.

LORD, You are the IMPREGNABLE ROCK, our spiritual refuge. Thank You, our Lord and God!

Praise to IMPERISHABLE God

05/23/2017

“for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.”

Have you ever let something spoil in the refrigerator? You meant to eat it, but didn’t. You found the left-overs crammed behind the milk and orange juice, opened the lid, and whew! It stunk. It had perished. It was ruined. No good – for you or anyone. Not so with God and His Word. They’re IMPERISHABLE! They’re always good. God’s seed – Christ – is planted in believers. He is living in us. He won’t die. We won’t die. We’re indwelt by the IMPERISHABLE Jesus through the living and enduring word of God. Hallelujah! Celebrate!

Lord, we celebrate YOU! You are IMPERISHABLE. Your word is enduring. We’ve been born of Your imperishable seed. Thank You! We praise You!

Ask UP

05/22/2017

Stuck. Frozen. Breathe. Just breathe. Call a friend? Or, Ask UP?

God has given us friends to encourage and support one another. But, He's also given us access to come straight to Him with our questions, hopes, dreams, and concerns. He wants us to do more than "ask around" when we need help. Jesus tells us to Ask UP in Matthew 7:7, "Ask, and it will be given to you..."  Why?
