Hebrews 7:26
When You’re Devastated by the Separation, Take His Hand
Have you ever been separated from someone and you desperately wanted to be with them? Whether the separation is due to death, divorce, disease, distance, or destruction such as a weather related tragedy like Hurricane Michael, the pain of not being able to reach a loved one is indescribable. “Indescribable.” That’s a word victims and survivors use when trying to explain their loss, suffering, and sadness. Jesus understands such depth of emotion. He loves us and created us to live in union with Him. Indescribable love drove Him from heaven’s glory to earth to seek and save us. Jesus, separated from sinners by unimaginable holiness, crossed the chasm separating heaven’s glory to earth’s despair to offer His holy hand of redemption. Will we take His hand?
Lord, we praise You, who are SEPARATED from SINNERS, yet humbled Yourself to come to earth to save us.
“it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens;” Hebrews 7:26.

Praise to the INNOCENT CHRIST
Have you ever felt guilty? Isn’t it a horrible feeling? What do you do with guilt? You can’t hide it, shake it, or bury it. It clings to you like a cat. Nails dug in, it’s determined to not turn loose of your heart. However, there is One who never experienced guilt. Until…our guilt was placed upon Him. Can you imagine being holy and INNOCENT one moment and the next moment experiencing the guilt of the world? Jesus did that for us. Never question His love…”while we were yet sinners, He died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Wonderful, Savior, INNOCENT ONE, thank You for taking our shame and guilt so that we might be declared innocent.
Praise to Christ, SEPARATED FROM SINNERS
“it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, SEPARATED FROM SINNERS and exalted above the heavens;”
Are you amazed at the various ways Christ is described? Jesus is our friend. He loves us. He offered His life so that we might live. Yet, He’s SEPARATED FROM SINNERS. What does that mean? It means we needed holy Jesus to go before God and intercede for us. Jesus is without sin so He alone could do that for us. If you know someone who is not a follower of Christ, you can find help HERE to explain how to become a Christian.
Lord, we praise You, who are SEPARATED from SINNERS. Thank You for interceding for us so we might stand before holy God in heaven.

Hebrews 7:26
Can you imagine what the disciples felt when Jesus, who had been speaking with them, was all of a sudden “lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight”? (Acts 1:9) I can’t imagine it. I’ve tried. Put yourself in the scene. There you are. Jesus is telling you that you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be His witness. That’s pretty mind boggling in itself. The Holy Spirit is going to come UPON YOU! Before you can get your mind around that, Jesus starts being lifted up. You’re in shock. His feet are literally off the ground. Your head is titled back. You look UP and watch until Jesus is gone…exalted above the heavens.
Lord God, I can’t get my mind around Your majesty and what Your throne room looks like. But, I’m so glad Jesus is with You, exalted above the heavens. I praise You for Your reign of love and peace!

INNOCENT
Have you ever felt guilty? Isn’t it a horrible feeling? What do you do with guilt? You can’t hide it, shake it, or even bury it. It clings to you like a cat. Nails dug in, it’s determined to not let you go. There is one person who never experienced guilt. Until He hung on the cross and took our guilt upon Himself, Jesus was innocent. Can you imagine going from a state of holy innocent to one of overwhelming sin and shame? Our Lord did that. He loves us so.
My wonderful, Lord, You, the INNOCENT one, took my shame and guilt so that I might be declared innocent. Thank You! Thank You!
