“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.”

John 15:1-2

God is interested in you. He wants more for you than for you to lay around like a semi-productive vine. Fruit is fun! Fruit is good. It’s the purpose of the vine – to bear fruit. Our purpose as Christians is not to be spiritual dead beats. Rather, we’re to bear fruit for God. Pruning is for our good and the benefit of all. It results in more fruit and more joy. If God has the heavenly clippers aimed in your direction, it’s because He’s the vinedresser. 

Lord, You are the VINEDRESSER. I praise You that You care about me being more than a semi-fruitful Christian.
