QUALIFIED
“giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.”
Qualified here means “made sufficient, rendered fit.” Our prior sin state that disqualified us from our eternal inheritance no longer marks us. Rather, by turning to Jesus in faith, and believing God sent Him to die for our sins, God qualifies us. Let me give you an example. Many are hopeful to compete in the Olympic finals. But not all qualify. In the same way, except to an even further degree, no human qualifies for heaven. However, in His love for us, God stepped in and entered Christ in the race for us. His victory was accounted to us. “Qualified for Heaven” – that’s an identity to which we hold tightly and wear humbly.
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ I am qualified for heaven. What a great honor and privilege. May I keep my identity as qualified close to my heart and mind; cherishing all You and Jesus have done for me.
