Acts 4:12

Which Way Will You Choose?

12/16/2025

Depending on how old you are, you may be familiar with Frank Sinatra’s hit song, “My Way,” whose lyrics reflect on life and its end. A repeated sentiment in the song, “I did it my way,” resonated with people when it first came out as well as today. People pride themselves in forging their own path, being self-driven, independent, and in charge of their destiny.

When it comes to God and eternal matters, many people buck at the idea of absolute truth. They believe in pluralism, which embraces the idea that there is more than one way to heaven. However, in spite of what people believe, Jesus was clear that there is only one Way to heaven and that is through faith in Him.

John 14:6 records Jesus’s declaration, “‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’”

Acts 4:12 affirms the absolute necessity of trusting Jesus as the way to eternal life in heaven. “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Jesus is not only the Way, but He also made the way for us to have eternal life. Christ’s sacrifice on the cross paid our sin debt. God has given us free will to accept or reject Jesus. The Bible warns that those who do not believe in Christ and don’t obey the gospel of Jesus will face eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). Those who accept Christ are made righteous through Him and will inherit eternal life (Matthew 25:46). Have you said “yes” to the Way to eternal life?

Lord, thank You for being the WAY to eternal life. I’m grateful beyond words and give You all praise. Bring into my life those with whom I can share that You are the way, the truth, and the life.

Why Jesus?

08/05/2025

“Why?” That was the question Millennials asked me at a conference where I was speaking. Why this… Why that… “I guess that’s why we’re called the Y Generation,” a 29-year-old explained. “We want to know why.”

Millennials, the “Y Generation,” are those born during the 1980s and early 1990s. They’re the children of Baby Boomers. Those in Generation Y aren’t prone to accept pat answers. In other words, just because a preacher, teacher, or parent says something, that doesn’t necessarily make it true.

So how do we answer their question, “Why believe in and follow Jesus?” For this reason: Jesus demonstrated that He was more than just a man. People witnessed His resurrection from the dead three days after He had been crucified by skilled executioners. Jesus was who He proclaimed to be—the way, truth, and life. Peter, a witness of Jesus’ life, death, burial, and ascension into heaven spells it out, “there is no other name under heaven that has been given by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). That’s why. There is no other name by which we are saved. Confidently, boldly, and gladly speak the truth out loud to the “Y Generation” and everyone else.

Jesus, NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES, I praise You, Lord and Savior. You are the answer, and I love You.

“Why?” That was the question millennials asked me at a recent conference. Why this… Why that… “I guess that’s why we’re called the Y Generation,” a 29 year old explained. “We want to know why.”

Millennials, also known as the “Y Generation,” are those who were born during the 1980’s and early 1990’s. They’re the children of baby boomers. Those in Generation Y aren’t prone to accept pat answers. Rather, they want to know why. In other words, just because a preacher, teacher, or parent says something, in their opinion, that doesn’t necessarily make it true.  So, “Why believe in and follow Jesus?”  For this reason: Jesus demonstrated that He was more than man. People witnessed His resurrection from the dead three days after He had been crucified by soldiers skilled in executions. Jesus said He is the way, truth, and life. Praise to Jesus, NAME ABOVE NAMES

08/04/2018

“There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12

“Why?” That was the question millennials asked me at a recent conference. Why this… Why that… “I guess that’s why we’re called the Y Generation,” a 29 year old explained. “We want to know why.”

Millennials, also known as the “Y Generation,” are those who were born during the 1980’s and early 1990’s. They’re the children of baby boomers. A characteristic of Generation Y is the desire to know why; rather than accept pat answers. In other words, just because a preacher, teacher, or parent says something, that doesn’t necessarily make it so; in their opinion. So, “Why believe in and follow Jesus?”  Well, there’s a rather good reason, Peter says. Jesus proved to be more than man. People witnessed His crucifixion and death on the cross.  People witnessed His burial. People witnessed His resurrection from the dead three days later. Jesus said He is the way, truth, and life. Peter spelled it out, “there is no other name under heaven that has been given by which we must be saved.” That’s why. It’s why we believe and respond in faith to Jesus. It’s why we repent of our sins. It’s why we gather to worship and praise Him. It’s why we daily think on who He is and commit to live for Him. There is no other name by which we are saved.

Jesus, name above all names, name by which we must be saved, we praise You. Your name is honey on our lips; sweet to our souls.

Praise to the NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES

07/10/2016

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12

Have you ever known someone who claimed there are many ways to salvation? If so, you probably recall the conflict presented before you.  Since Jesus claimed to the only way to God, in other words, the NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES, He is either a lunatic, a liar, or LORD. I’m going with the later. He is LORD, and there is no name other than JESUS’s that can save us.

Jesus, NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES, I worship YOU!
