Why Bother Worshiping Our Heavenly Father?

12/05/2025

Do you ever wonder, “Why bother praising God?” If so, Isaiah 40:21-22; 25 explain why.

“Do you not know? Have you not heard?
Has it not been declared to you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in”

“‘To whom then will you liken Me, that I would be his equal?’ says the Holy One.”

God makes it clear that no one is equal to Him. He calls us to lift up our eyes and see the heavens He created as evidence of His power and glory.

What does this mean for us?

It means the God we worship is unequalled. He is before all things and above all things. Nothing is too difficult for God. We can and should look to Him in holy reverence, bow before Him, and offer Him our lives to use in whatever way He chooses for His glory.

Lord, I worship and praise You who are UNEQUALED. There is no one like You. You are wise and powerful beyond my imagination. To think that You care for me is beyond comprehension. Thank You for loving me, saving me, and preparing a place for me to be with You for eternity. I love You!

Do You Wish You Had More Support?

11/13/2025

Do you ever wish you had more support at work, from your spouse, family, or friend? I remember a night long ago when I realized God was my support. There was no one who could help me. It wasn’t that they wouldn’t. It was that I had to go through something by myself. I was lonely and didn’t know what to do. It was just God and me. During that time I found that I wasn’t without help. God was with me; my support. As 2 Samuel 22:19  says, “They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support.”

If you don’t have support, it can be lonely and sometimes terrifying. In reality, though, you do have support. You may be at a time in your life like I was—where God is allowing you to get to a new place with Him, a deeper place, a more real relationship. Jesus is not causing your loneliness, rather He is there for you in it. Remember, if anybody knows what it’s like to be misunderstood or go through something alone, He does. When you pray you’re talking to a friend who loves you and can appreciate what you’re going through. No doubt, that’s why Jesus went away by Himself to pray early in the mornings—to get His thoughts straightened out while talking to His Father.

If you’ve been blessed with a person you’ve been able to talk things over with, then you know how helpful it can be. That’s the relationship you can have with your Heavenly Father. Just start talking like you would to a trusted person. Have your Bible, pen, and journal. When Jesus brings thoughts or a verse to your mind, write them down. Act on what He brings to mind. Be assured that if David found the Lord to be supportive, you can, also.

Lord, thank You for being my SUPPORT. When no one else is there, or even if they are, You are the ultimate support I need.

The Devastation of Separation

10/18/2025

Have you ever been separated from someone and you desperately wanted to be with them? Whether the separation was due to death, divorce, disease, or distance, the pain of not being able to be with a loved one can be devastating.

Jesus understands such depth of emotion. He loves us and created us to live in union with Him. Because of His Indescribable love for us, He left heaven’s glory and came to earth to save us.

Yes, Jesus, separated from sinners as Hebrews 7:26 describes, crossed the chasm between heaven’s glory and earth. He stretched out His hands on a cross to die so that we might be saved and be reunited to Him and the Father.  “For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens.”

Jesus, separated from sinners, took on human flesh and lived among sinners; taking our sin upon Himself. Only when we ponder the heights of holiness that Jesus left to secure our salvation are we able to begin to grasp the depth of His love.

How well are we loving Jesus in return? How intentionally are we abstaining from sin? How faithfully are we sharing with others who Jesus is and how they can also be reunited to Him?

Lord Jesus, SEPARATED FROM SINNERS, thank You for coming to earth to save me and reunite me to Yourself and the Father. May I cling tightly to You with a heart overflowing in gratitude.

Lifted Head, Humble Heart

10/02/2025

I’m the richest woman in the world. Why would I say that and why can you if you are a believer? We can say that because of Jesus, who has given us riches beyond our comprehension. Consider the following blessings that you have because of Christ.

  1. I am rich in mercy. Ephesians 2:4 says, “God, being rich in mercy, … made us alive together with Christ.” We were poor and pitiful before Jesus saved us. Now, we are blessed with His rich mercy.
  2. I am rich in faith; an heir of God’s kingdom. James 2:5 says, “Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom…” Meditate on the richness of God’s kingdom awaiting you.
  3. I am the rich bride of the King and His brilliant eternal city. Revelation 21:2, 11 says, “I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband …having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper.” Because of Christ’s rich mercy, you are headed to the brilliance of the new Jerusalem.

Believer, walk with a humble heart but your head lifted. God has extended His rich mercy to you. Christ and the brilliance of the New Jerusalem await you.

Lord Jesus, RICH IN MERCY, thank You for all I have in You. Open my eyes to people with whom I can share Your rich mercy.

God’s Amazing Appointments

08/15/2025

Have you ever considered that God appoints people, times, places, and more? Contemplate the following verses and worship Him for His involvement in our lives and world.

“Son of man, I have appointed you a watchman to the house of Israel” (Ezekiel 3:17).

“Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him” (Genesis 21:2).

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).

The Lord appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah” (Jonah 1:17).

“He [Jesus] appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach” (Mark 3:14).

“Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time will come” (Mark 13:33).

“And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

Yes, God appoints times, people, places, and more. What has He appointed you to do?

Lord God, You are the ONE WHO APPOINTS people, places, and times. Rather than fret, help me accept Your appointed times and faithfully do what You appoint me to do.

When Fear Overtakes You

01/01/2025
A loving father holding the hand of his child, symbolizing God's care for His children.

Have you seen the look in a child’s eyes when they were afraid because they couldn’t see where their parents were? Have you watched that child locate their parents and run to them? Have you heard a child cry for their parent? If so, consider Romans 8:15, which says believers have “received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba Father.”

Abba Father can be translated from the Greek as “daddy”. So what does Romans 8:15 tell us? It tells us that our relationship with God is like that of a loving father with his child, tender and close. Our Heavenly Father chose to adopt us. Jesus chose to come to earth in human skin so we can see and smell Him. We can watch and learn from Him. We can run to Him. We can feel His embrace.

Our Heavenly Father and Jesus deeply care for you.

In a world that sometimes seems indifferent and uncaring, it’s reassuring to know that we have a Heavenly Father. Although we may be afraid at times due to the events in our life, nation, or world, we can look to our Father and be assured that He’s watching out for us and watching over us.

Heavenly Father, ABBA FATHER, thank You for adopting me as Your child. Help me walk confidently through my day assured that You are with me.
