Do You Wish You Had More Support?

11/13/2025

Do you ever wish you had more support at work, from your spouse, family, or friend? I remember a night long ago when I realized God was my support. There was no one who could help me. It wasn’t that they wouldn’t. It was that I had to go through something by myself. I was lonely and didn’t know what to do. It was just God and me. During that time I found that I wasn’t without help. God was with me; my support. As 2 Samuel 22:19  says, “They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support.”

If you don’t have support, it can be lonely and sometimes terrifying. In reality, though, you do have support. You may be at a time in your life like I was—where God is allowing you to get to a new place with Him, a deeper place, a more real relationship. Jesus is not causing your loneliness, rather He is there for you in it. Remember, if anybody knows what it’s like to be misunderstood or go through something alone, He does. When you pray you’re talking to a friend who loves you and can appreciate what you’re going through. No doubt, that’s why Jesus went away by Himself to pray early in the mornings—to get His thoughts straightened out while talking to His Father.

If you’ve been blessed with a person you’ve been able to talk things over with, then you know how helpful it can be. That’s the relationship you can have with your Heavenly Father. Just start talking like you would to a trusted person. Have your Bible, pen, and journal. When Jesus brings thoughts or a verse to your mind, write them down. Act on what He brings to mind. Be assured that if David found the Lord to be supportive, you can, also.

Lord, thank You for being my SUPPORT. When no one else is there, or even if they are, You are the ultimate support I need.

The Last Adam Who Gives Eternal Life

06/29/2025

“‘The first man, Adam, became a living soul.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit” (1 Corinthians 15:45).

Adam, the first man, brought sin and death into the world. Jesus, who is called the last Adam, brought righteousness and eternal life.

People are living souls. Therefore, Christians are living souls who have received the last Adam’s life-giving eternal Spirit.

Would you like for God to forgive your sins? Would you like to receive Christ’s life-giving Spirit? If so, repent and confess Jesus as the Son of God who died on the cross to pay your sin penalty. Receive Jesus’s eternal life-giving Spirit.

Prayer of Repentance

Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus who died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me and fill me with your life-giving Holy Spirit.

Prayer of Praise

Lord Jesus, I praise You, the LAST ADAM, for giving me Your life-giving Spirit.

“For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself” (Acts 2:39).

Jesus on the Witness Stand

10/28/2024
Open Bible on a table.

Do you ever wonder who you can believe? One person says one thing and another claims the opposite. Yes, it can sometimes be difficult to know who to believe, but not in the case of Jesus’ words. Revelation 1:5 describes Jesus Christ as “the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood.”

Jesus is a faithful witness. A witness of what? He witnessed to us about heaven, His Father, angels, crowns of righteousness awaiting believers, resurrection bodies, thrones, powers, kingdoms, the judgment seat, forgiveness, redemption, His Father’s house, and about Satan. Jesus testified about the fact that Abraham, Noah, Moses, and Jonah were real people and that the Old Testament is true. Our confidence in the Bible and its teachings solidly rests on Christ because He is a faithful witness to us that they are true.

Lord Jesus, we praise You, the faithful WITNESS! Thank You for the confidence we have in the Bible and You because of Your word.
