Isaiah 41:10

If You’re Faltering

12/08/2025
A hand lifted in prasie.

I’ve had the blessing of holding our newborn children and grandchildren. Holding them was no problem. As a matter of fact, it was a delight to hold them. I was able to intently gaze at their faces as I prayed for them. The more I held them, the deeper my love grew. Wouldn’t it have been silly if they had been able to talk and argued, “Don’t hold me. I’m too heavy.” Or, what if they had said, “I don’t want to bother you. You don’t need to hold me.”

In light of that, consider our Heavenly Father’s words in Isaiah 41:10, “I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Think about our Father’s words in relation to you. “I will uphold you;” literally, “hold you up.”

In the Bible, God’s right hand symbolizes His strength. His right hand is a strong hand of righteousness.

Are you facing something that is overwhelming or oppressive? Do you feel like you might crumble or falter?

If so, I can relate. Being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2024, although not a smoker, led me to look to God in new ways to uphold me through chemotherapy, a lobectomy, and radiation. God upheld me moment by moment, day by day and He will uphold you no matter what you are going through. Look to Him in faith and love.

Lord, You are my UPHOLDER. Thank You for holding me up with Your strong, righteous right hand. I love You and give You praise!

Thank You God for being Righteous in an Evil Day

10/03/2025

Tragic. Frightening. Unreal. Evil. Infuriating. Senseless. What words well up in you when you think about the blatant lawlessness occurring today? We can evacuate cities when hurricanes are predicted, but we can’t predict when evil will raise its ugly head. People are asking, “What can we do?” and “To what can we cling?”

As Christians, we don’t need to be overcome by emotions of worry and fear when we see what’s happening in the world around us. Instead, we can seek refuge in our Heavenly Father and find encouragement and comfort in the words of Isaiah 41:10

“Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

In the midst of evil, terror, and natural disasters, God promises to strengthen us and help us. He will hold us up with His powerful, righteous right hand. Knowing that God is righteous should provide us with even greater comfort. God is the only One who is completely perfect, upright, holy, just, and faithful. He is the only One in whom we can place our absolute trust, knowing that He loves us. Rather than dwelling in fear, let’s turn to Him and pray for our nation and world.

Heavenly Father, thank You that in these evil times You are RIGHTEOUS. Help me to seek You, knowing that You will strengthen me and uphold me in every circumstance.

“Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My RIGHTEOUS right hand”

Isaiah 41:10

Tragic. Frightening. Unreal. Evil. Anger. Fear. Hopelessness. Horror. Sickening. Unfair. Senseless. Panic. What words well up in you when you think about Stephen Paddock opening fire and mass murdering 59 innocent people and injuring over 500 others?  We can evacuate cities when Hurricanes are predicted. But we can’t predict when evil will raise its ugly head. Everyone is asking, “What can we do?” No one has the answer for how to prevent another mass murder. Our Heavenly Father understands our fear. He promises to strengthen us and help us. How?  In the midst of evil, terror, and natural disasters, a RIGHTEOUS powerful hand holds the believer. God is RIGHTEOUS and we must turn to Him in this evil day. Sign up HERE to get my upcoming monthly Faith Nugget, “Being a Good Soldier in the Battle Against Evil.”

RIGHTEOUS

04/19/2013

“Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand”

Isaiah 41:10

God amazes me! Just when I think that I have good reason to fear – N Korea with nuclear missiles, the Boston Marathon being bombed, Ricin on mail, school shootings, plant explosions, not to mention the danger to our children with the legalizaton of the Plan B pill as an over-the-counter drug; I pause and read Isaiah 41:10. “Do not fear, for I am with you.” Is that not an incredible reason to not fear? I can’t argue with that. God promises to strengthen us and help us. How? His righteous right hand will uphold us. In the midst of evil, in the throes of terror there will be an undergirding, a righteous powerful hand holding us up. God is righteous and His righteousness is not going anywhere.

Lord, thank You for Your RIGHTEOUSNESS and that You uphold me in the midst of that which I might otherwise fear.
