Deity, Firstborn, Head, Image, Master, Rewarder, Treasure, Triumphant

Friends,

My heart is bouncing in joy all over the place. Here’s why…This morning Moody Broadcasting is calling me for a radio interview for the release of my new Bible study, If God Is In Control, Why Am I A Basket Case? In preparation for it, I reread Colossians, which is what the Bible study is based on. Were my eyes ever filled with ALL the ways God talks about Jesus, His Son! In case you’re interested, re-read Colossians. It’s such a short book, it doesn’t take much time. If you were in the pilot study, your heart will be refreshed because each passage will hold in-depth meaning from your prior study.

Now, to the exciting part….drumroll please…. We have 10 more names, titles, and attributes to add to our already 200 Names booklet! Yes, I said 10!  Here we go. Grab your booklet or prayer journal and list these with the Scripture reference. I’m going to give them to you in alphabetical order because that’s how I filled them in my 200 A-Z Names, Attributes, and Titles of God book. I then also added them under Friday’s first column, which I label “Lord,” in the Week at a Glance section of my Prayers of My Heart Prayer Journal. Yes, I overflowed the Friday and “Lord” columns. Guess what…that’s okay. It really is. The sooner you release yourself from trying to have “perfect columns” and just use your journal in your way with a few messy columns, the sooner God can use you to record His heart, words, and prayers.

DEITY, Col 2:9

FIRSTBORN FR/THE DEAD, Col 1:18

HEAD OVER THE BODY, THE CHURCH, Col 1:18

HEAD OVER ALL RULE & AUTHORITY, Col 2:10

IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, Col 1:15 (This has always been one of my favorite. Can’t believe I left it out.)

MASTER, Col 4:1 (Why haven’t you been commenting and telling me names I needed to have in here. Heh…give me a shout sometime. 🙂

REWARDER, Col 3:24

TREASURE OF WISDOM & KNOWLEDGE, Col 2:3

TRIUMPHANT, Col 2:15

My dear friends, in these days of economic turmoil, job insecurity, challenges raising kids, financial fear, do we who are believers not have a responsibility to wear on our chests…or at least countenances who we know holds our future? Join me in using the above to praise God. Then repent. I did. I confessed I do not always honor Christ as Deity nor my Head. I confessed that tho Christ is Master, I do not listen to His voice or heeds His commands as I should. I repented that though He is the Treasure of Wisdom and Knowledge, I often seek answers from other sources before Him. I confessed that at times my mind wanders in fear and faithlessness rather than rejoices in faith that Christ is already Triumphant over that for which I’ve prayed.

Remember, prasie God, but then go on and repent of any way in which you fall short in light of His divinity. Then, ask God to help you in those areas. As He prompts you to walk in those ways throughout the day, practice Yielding to Him! This is how God conforms us to the image of His beloved Son. This is how we move from being basket cases to living an extraordinary life for God. All praise to Him.

Love you,

Debbie
