It's been one month since the devastating July 4th

It's been one month since the devastating July 4th floods hit our community. It feels like it was just a day ago. The Hill Country is grieving, but our eyes are on the Lord. From the very first day, helpers came. People from all over the state (and beyond) flocked to the Guadalupe River for search and rescue, clean up and to serve meals. We are so thankful and we continue to pray for every single family and business that has been affected.

Please continue to pray for our sweet community and for peace and comfort for the families who have lost loved ones. The Lord is near the brokenhearted. He is the lifter of our heads. He will never leave or forsake us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Here is something I continue to be excited about. Hoping you can help us!!

God woke me at 4 a.m. several years ago and stirred my heart to take the message of Pray with Purpose, Live with Passion, as a conference to women throughout the nation. It was as if He whispered, “My daughters throughout the nation are hurting and depressed. The tools I gave you in Pray With Purpose, Live with Passion work. Take the conference to them.” I didn’t hear a real voice. But, whatever word you use for how God stirs us to act – “nudges,” “moves,” “prompts” – that’s what He did.

The blue states are where I’ve held the conference or it is scheduled. The heartbeat of P.R.A.Y. With Passion Across the Nation is to inspire you to live passionately for Christ and equip you to pray more purposefully.

Jesus promised that He IS coming back. Will we be ready? Only God the Father knows the day that Christ will return, but we should live as if that day is today. Tell the people around you about Jesus. Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you. Spend time seeking the Lord's will and then share what He puts on your heart.

Life can have its sour moments, but along with the sour we can taste the sweetness of God through His Word and presence.

Have you heard of our Lemon Drop Ministry? Debbie came up with the idea after being diagnosed with cancer last summer and spending time in the chemo clinic. She was told that patients like lemon drops to get rid of the bad taste from chemo in their mouth so she took lemon drops Lauren gave her and passed them around. She left some for patients later in the week. The nurses said that the people loved them and so... our Lemon Drop Ministry was born.

You can join in on this ministry and spread the Word and Love of Jesus to those currently fighting cancer in a fun and simple way!

1. Purchase Individually wrapped lemon drops on Amazon.
2. Download the free printable verses found at the link below. Attach the verse with a ribbon or a staple.
3. Drop a bowl of them off at a hospital or oncology clinic where chemo is given. Restock as able or needed.

The eyes tell us what fills the heart. And so we wonder—what fills Jesus’ eyes? What if you were in His presence and He looked deeply into your eyes. What if you couldn’t take your eyes away from His. What would you see in His eyes for you? You’d see kindness; kindness beyond anything you’d experienced. Kindness that causes you to love Him with every fiber of your being.

As the Apostle Paul asks in Romans 2:4, do we think lightly of His kindness and tolerance and patience toward us? In other words, are we going about our day hardly looking Christ’s way? When He convicts us of our sin, do we look in Jesus’ eyes and sincerely apologize to Him and perhaps the person we’ve wronged? Or, are we like a child who is caught doing something wrong and maybe at best, we mutter, “sorry.”

“Look in Jesus’ eyes,” we’re reminded. “Do we think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads us to repentance?”

Pause now to look into Jesus’ eyes and respond accordingly.

Dear Savior, You are so KIND and loving and patient. Forgive me for sinning against You when I sin against others. May I look deeply in Your eyes and then turn and reflect Your kindness to others.

If you’ve been upset and concerned because life isn’t fair, because wrong too often prevails over what is right, because our world’s justice system doesn’t always rule fairly, remember that God is just. Also, remember that there is a day when every person will stand before the judgment seat of God (Hebrews 9:27).

God weighs hearts and motives. He forgives repentant sinners. He renders judgment on unrepentant ones. Set aside any vengeance you have toward another person knowing God will rule justly because that is His nature–just.

Lord, thank You that I can trust You for You are JUST.

TIP: Write God’s attribute that I highlight in every 365 Days of Praise devotional in Prayers of My Heart. Writing it on paper writes it on your brain. When you’re troubled, flip through the pages of your journal and thank God for who He is as you reflect on His nature.
