365 Days of Praise
Praise to Our FAITHFUL Creator

“Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a FAITHFUL CREATOR in doing what is right.”
The apostle Peter doesn’t sugar coat what it means to be a disciple of Christ. He explains that Jesus suffered and we will suffer. Jesus drew a line in the sand. He said we are either with Him or against Him. If we are with Him, there will be people who call us names and attack us for the sake of their cause. But, in the midst of suffering, we are encouraged. To do what? To entrust our souls – not to the changing culture, but rather to our Faithful Creator.
FAITHFUL CREATOR, we praise You that we can trust You and entrust our souls to You!
Jesus! the EXACT REPRESENTATION of God’s Nature
“He (Jesus) is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature,”
“I wonder what God is like.” Have you ever had that thought? If so, you have your answer in Jesus. Look at the Son and you’ll know what the Father is like. Why? Because Jesus is the “spitting image” of His Daddy. Or, as Scholar William Barclay explains, “Jesus is the shining of God’s glory among men.” He is the stamped image of God.
Christ Jesus, we look at You and see our Heavenly Father… and all His love, grace, and glory. We praise You, Lord.

We worship You, Lord, You are EVERYWHERE
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me.”
I was in high school when these verses first caught my attention. They were so beautiful that I took my guitar in hand and wrote music to the words. “If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me.” Which of the verses are your favorite? Which provide you the most comfort; knowing God is everywhere and that He is always with you?
Lord God, I praise You that You are EVERYWHERE, and there is no place I can go and be apart from Your presence.
Thank you, ETERNAL FATHER
“His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, ETERNAL FATHER, Prince of Peace.”
Bible scholar Charles Ryrie provides insight into the description ETERNAL FATHER. In his Study Bible he explains that this literally means, “Father of Eternity; i.e., Messiah is eternally a Father to His people, guarding, supplying, and caring for their needs.” Isn’t it wonderful to know that our ETERNAL FATHER is guarding, supplying, and caring for us and all who call on His name?
ETERNAL FATHER, thank You for guarding, supplying, and caring for all who call You Father.
Thank you, EVERLASTING GOD
“Before the mountains were born or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”
Our day comes to an end. Our weekends come to an end. Vacations end. Time ends with loved ones when they join Jesus in heaven. But one thing never ends: God. He is EVERLASTING. He existed before He “gave birth to the earth and the world.” He will exist no matter what happens to the earth and world. If you’re feeling a sense of loss or loneliness; or if it feels like everything in your world is changing too quickly, you have a reason to praise. God is EVERLASTING!
Praise to the Lord, Our EQUIPPER
“Now the God of peace, … equip you in every good thing to do His will … Amen.”
“I can’t do it!” Have you ever felt that way? Maybe you’ve felt that in relation to your job, marriage, parenting, or even being the Christian you desire to be. If you feel that way, you’re not alone. I wish I had a penny for every time I’ve thought those words. But, the fact of the matter is, our Lord is able. He is able to EQUIP us. And, He’s on our side. He wants to EQUIP us. What does He want to EQUIP us to do? He wants to EQUIP us in every good thing to do His will. God, who raised Jesus from the dead, is able to EQUIP you and me – to stay the course to do His will. Rather than stop after saying, “I can’t do this,” continue and say, “but God will EQUIP me.”
Lord God, who EQUIP’s us to do every good thing according to Your will, we praise You!
Thank You, Lord, ENTHRONED ON HIGH
“Who is like the LORD our GOD, who is enthroned on high,”
Where is God? People often ask that question. Where is He? He is enthroned on high. Yet, He lowered Himself to come to earth and teach us how to live. He has humbled Himself and come down from heaven to die on the cross for our sins. Where is the LORD our God? He is risen from the dead and ascended to the right hand of God where He lives to make intercession for us. Looking for God? Look UP.
Lord, You are ENTHRONED ON HIGH! We praise You!
Thank you, ENDURING LORD
“you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. But the word of the Lord endures forever.”
Did you know that the word “evolve” can’t be found in the Bible? I searched the KJV, NAS, and NIV translations. Not once is “evolve” used. “Endureth,” “endures,” and “enduring” can be found 60 times. In this day and age where people say their moral beliefs are “evolving,” I’m thankful for God who remains unchanged. He and His word “endure.” The Greek word “endure” means “remains, is kept, continues to be.” Aren’t you glad that God’s Word will not evolve into something different? He and His word endure.
Heavenly Father, we praise You that You and Your Word are enduring. We can trust You for who You are and what You say. You and Your word ENDURE forever!
Thank you, Lord, Our ENCOURAGER
“Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,”
God is an encourager! Have you ever contemplated how He encourages you? The apostle Paul had ample opportunity to know God as an encourager. Lonely nights. Conflicting opinions among believers. Physical suffering. Imprisonment. God ministered to Paul in his spirit and through others. The next time you’re in despair, turn off the TV. Go to God in prayer. Receive His encouragement.
Lord, we praise You, our ENCOURAGER.
Thank You, Lord, for being a DWELLING PLACE
“The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms;”
Where do you hang out? Where is home to you; the place to which you retreat, the place where you find comfort, love, and security? If it’s not God, you’re missing out on the ultimate DWELLING PLACE: God Himself! He invites you to be with Him now and for eternity.
Eternal God, You are our DWELLING PLACE. We give praise, honor, and glory to You!
