365 Days of Praise
CARING LORD
“casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7
What do you do with worry? How do respond when you get a bad diagnosis? To whom do you turn in the middle of the night when you are afraid, sad, or alone? It’s normal to feel anxious, despair, and worry. But what Jesus wants us to know is that He’s with us. And, He cares for us. Just like you might cast a fishing line into the water, cast your anxiety on Jesus. He will be with you through your days and nights, one moment at a time.
LORD, thank You for being a CARING LORD on whom I can cast my anxiety!
CAPTAIN of the LORD’S HOSTS
“‘I indeed come now as captain of the host of the Lord.’ And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said to him, ‘What has my lord to say to his servant?’ The captain of the Lord’s host said to Joshua, ‘Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.’ And Joshua did so.”
Joshua 5:14-15
You have a big task. You don’t know how to proceed, nor what lies ahead of you. But you’re in charge. You pray. You look up and see a man standing in front of you with a sword drawn in his hand. You ask, “Are you for us or against us?” The response? “I’m the CAPTAIN of the LORD’S HOST.” Your eyes are opened to the pre- incarnate Christ standing before you. You fall on your face and bow down. Friends, God is on our side when we are fighting His battles in His name. Are you fighting for your marriage? He’s on your side. Are you prayerfully fighting for your children? God’s on your side. Are you fighting for His Word and truth to go forward? The Captain of the Lord’s Host is on your side.
LORD, I Praise You and thank You for being the CAPTAIN OF THE LORD’S HOST!
BUILDER of All THINGS
“For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.”
Hebrews 3:4
Sometimes when we look at our lives, jobs, situation, or relationships, we might feel discouraged or hopeless. “I don’t see any way out of this,” we might say. Or we might think, “The best of times is over.” However, that’s when we need to take another glance – an upward one and remember who God is. He is the one who engineered the heavens. He is the brain behind chromosomes. If He can build the heavens and our bodies, I’m pretty sure He can reconstruct what is broken or dilapidated in our lives. Turn to the Builder of All Things and ask Him to start building.
LORD, I Praise You and submit my life and concerns to You, the BUILDER OF ALL THINGS!
BRANCH of the LORD
“‘Behold, the days are coming,’ declares the Lord, When I shall raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.’”
Jeremiah 23:5
Have you ever looked at a plant that appeared to be dead and then found there was a new green shoot? It wasn’t dead! It was alive. Many say that God is dead. But He isn’t. One day, all will acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ, the Branch of the Lord!
I praise You, Lord Jesus Christ, BRANCH of the LORD!
BOUNTIFUL GOD
“They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion,
And they will be radiant over the bounty of the Lord—Over the grain and the new wine and the oil,
And over the young of the flock and the herd; And their life will be like a watered garden,
And they will never languish again.”
Jeremiah 31:12
Do you ever feel dry? How about worn out? Does “lifeless” sometimes describe you? Or, do you long for the day when you’re not barely squeaking by financially? If you are a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, you are in for a day when you are shouting for joy; when you are absolutely radiant. Shouting for joy over what? Radiant about what? The bounty of the Lord. He’s going to open the floodgate and you’ll be the recipient of His great bounty!
Heavenly Father, we can hardly wait for the day when we see You face to face; when we are radiant and shouting for joy. Come quickly, BOUNTIFUL LORD!

ANOINTED
Luke 4:18-19
It makes me smile to read Christ’s words. Why? He had just returned from being tempted by Satan in the wilderness. He was being led by the Spirit in the power of the Spirit.” (Lk 4:14) What was His first messianic, Spirit anointed action? He went home. To Nazareth, where He had been brought up. I love that! And get this – “as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.” Friends, this is a good place for us to pause and ask ourselves: Is it our custom to gather with others each week to read and hear the Scripture? Are we raising our children with the custom of gathering weekly with other believers? If it was what God’s ANOINTED did, I want to follow His example. I wouldn’t have wanted to have missed hearing Him speak that day, nor do I want to miss hearing Him speak today.
Jesus, I praise You, ANOINTED Lord and Savior, for Your words and for modeling the Spirit-led life!
ZEALOUS
“Then the Lord will be zealous for His land and will have pity on His people.”
Joel 2:18
Do we ever think God doesn’t see us in our sin? Many of us would say, “Yes.” We do things we know we shouldn’t do. We act in ways that are unbecoming to the Lord. Our thoughts are not holy. But God does see. And most importantly, He cares. Our actions and thoughts are not just a disgrace to us, they disgrace His name. In Joel 2:12, God calls us to return to Him with all our hearts, with fasting, weeping and mourning; to rend our hearts. His response to the one who does that? He relents. Why? Because God is ZEALOUS for us.
Lord God, You are ZEALOUS for me. Forgive me when I sin. Thank You that You hear and pursue me.
eXALTED
“The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock; And exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,”
2 Samuel 22:47
The Lord lives! Can I get a hallelujah from anyone? AND, He is the EXALTED rock of our salvation. He is above ALL. Knowing that, the question for me is: how can I exalt Him in my life? Might it be through my actions? My speech? The way I spend my time? I pray it is all of those.
I praise You, EXALTED LORD! There is none like You. I worship and bow before You.

WORTHY
“And they sang a new song, saying,
‘Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.'”
Revelation 5:9
Why is Jesus worthy of all the praise and glory we give Him? What makes HIM distinct from all other men who have walked the earth? He alone is God. He was slain and raised. With HIS blood He purchased us to be a kingdom and priests to our God; to reign on the earth. Let us join the “myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands,” whom John heard saying with a loud voice, ‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.'” Revelation 5:12
Lord Jesus, You are WORTHY! I give You all the praise and glory!

WORD of GOD
“His name is called The Word of God.”
Revelation 19:13
Words define us. They are an expression of our heart. They let others know what is on our mind. Jesus is the personification of all God might say or think. Jesus is an expression of God’s heart. Jesus is God’s Word made flesh.
Lord Jesus Christ, I praise You, WORD of GOD!
