Jesus, thank You, LAMB OF GOD, who gave up Your precious life to pay for my sins. I love You!

Have you ever had your head “hangin” low? Perhaps you were ashamed. Or, maybe you were just down. Imagine…God sees you and cares how you’re doing. He wants to lift your head. What happens when He does? Our eyes turn from looking down to looking up – into His face and glory. If you’re down and out today, pause. Take a moment to look to God in prayer. Let Him lift your eyes to the hope and glory you have in Him. 

I praise you, God, the LIFTER OF MY HEAD!

“You are my lamp, O Lord;
And the Lord illumines my darkness.”

2 Samuel 22:29

If we hurriedly read David’s words in 2 Samuel 22:29, we might get the impression that he’s sailing through life with God as His lamp. But if we listen to David’s words in the context in which they’re written, we learn that he’s in the dark, battling an enemy, and has walls he needs to get over. (2 Samuel 22:30) Are you in the dark in some area of your life? Are you battling anything? Are there some walls you need to get over or through? God is your LAMP, too. 

Thank you, Lord, for being my LAMP and for showing me how to navigate through my day and this dark world!

Anyone can call themselves “lord.” Anyone can “lord” themselves over another. But no one is inherently the LORD of LORDS except our LORD. Does that make your heart sing? Does it put a smile on your face? It should. 

You, O LORD, are LORD OF LORDS. My heart sings in praise of You!

God is all knowing. He knows our innermost thoughts. Romans 8:26,27. He knows the future. Acts 11:27,28. There is no one to whom we can go who is more trustworthy. Bow before Him. Tell Him your needs. Confess your secrets. Ask for His help.   

Lord, I praise you and thank you for KNOWING ALL in my life and in this world. You are omniscient!

“Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!”

Revelation 15:3

Some people think God is whom they decide Him to be. In other words, they form in their minds what God is like and voila – out comes their god. The fact is, God is who He is regardless of what we think. We do well to base our understanding on His revelation of Himself: King of the Nations who will judge the world in righteousness. 

I praise you, KING of the NATIONS, and give honor and glory to You!

“He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords”

1 Timothy 6:15

The apostle Paul was given a glimpse of heaven. It was with tremendous conviction that he therefore dedicated his life to serving God. Were we to have the same glimpse, perhaps our lips would flow in unwavering praise as Paul’s.  “He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen,” 1 Timothy 6:15-16. Do we believe God is the King of kings who dwells in unapproachable light? If so, may our lips flow in praise. 

You are the KING OF KINGS and Lords of lords; I praise you, blessed, Sovereign KING!

“The Lord is your keeper…
 The Lord will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.”

Psalm 121:5,7

Keep: guard, preserve, protect.  To whom can you entrust your soul?  Day in, day out, and ultimately, who do you want preserving and protecting you from evil and from “the pit of nothingness” (Isaiah 38:17)? “God” is the answer most give. Yet, do we actually walk in the confident awareness that we’re not walking alone; that God is our keeper? God guards, preserves, and protect us in ways we can’t see. We may have had a horrible day and felt we were in a “pit.” Yet, we have no idea what evil never touched us or our loved ones because God was guarding us. We have no concept of the eternal pit from which God keeps us. Today is a good day to look heavenward in praise of the Keeper our our soul.

Lord, I praise You for being the KEEPER of my soul, for protecting me from all evil, and for keeping my soul from the pit of nothingness.

“I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”

Romans 3:26

Wow. God is not only just, He also justifies us: declares us righteous when we repent of our sins and confess Jesus as Savior and Lord. If you’re not scratching your head over this magnificent attribute of God and His character that is not only just but also justifier, then I don’t know what might wow you. 

I praise you, God, both just and JUSTIFIER!

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.”

Psalm 32:8

The Lord is infinite in understanding. He understands us and our situations better than we understand ourselves. Because of that, He is the premier one to teach us the way in which we should go. And, what’s more, He offers, “I will instruct you.” Could we want for more than the ONE who has limitless understanding of us, others, and our future to instruct us? I’m excited about His offer. “Lord, instruct me and teach me the way in which I should go,” is a prayer that makes sense and can easily flow from our lips.

Lord, You are infinite in understanding. I praise You, my INSTRUCTOR!
