DIVINE

02/05/2013

“His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.”

2 Peter 1:3-4

DIVINE.  We often use the word casually. “This cake is divine!” Or, “It was a divine vacation.” However, in the Bible, the word is used in reference to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Christ’s DIVINE power granting to us everything pertaining to life and godliness; us (Christians) sharing in the DIVINE nature.  If we are living a ho-hum or defeated life, it isn’t because God wants us to. I encourage you to discover and delve into God’s “precious and magnificient promises” given to us in the Bible!

Lord Jesus, You are DIVINE power and life.  Thank You for Your precious and magnificient promises by which we become partakers of Your divine nature. I worship and adore You!

IF YOU LIVE in the TEXAS HILL COUNTRY, please join me TODAY as we DELVE INTO GOD’S PRECIOUS & MAGNIFICIENT PROMISES. I’ll be teaching 12:15-12:45 at the KROC Center, 201 Holdsworth. Newcomers welcome! For INFO or to Register, click HERE.

DEMONSTRATIVE

02/04/2013

“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

Have you ever wished someone would do more than tell they love you; they would SHOW you? That’s what God did in sending Jesus to die for our sins.  He proved His love. He exhibited it. God didn’t just send a message of love through a prophet. He DEMONSTRATED His love in the most visible, sacrificial way possible. If you’re thinking you’re unloved, think again!

Thank You, God, for DEMONSTRATING Your love by sending Jesus to die for my sins even while I was still a sinner!  I love and praise You!

IF YOU LIVE in the TEXAS HILL COUNTRY, please join me for a 6 week Bible study beginning tomorrow, Tues, Feb 4 at noon at the Kerrville KROC Center.  For INFO or to Register, click HERE.

DELIGHT

02/03/2013

“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations.”

Isaiah 42:1

Have you ever thought about the fact that God delights in Jesus? That Jesus is God’s DELIGHT?  In a world so full of evil and as God looks upon even the often sinful state of His own; don’t you know it blesses Him to look upon His Son? “Delightful!” That’s who Jesus is.

Lord Jesus, You are God’s DELIGHT and mine!  I praise You!

DEITY

02/02/2013

“For in Him (Christ) all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,”

Colossians 2:9

Some people want to blow off Jesus as “just another teacher.”  Others say He was simply a prophet. Not so! Not only did Jesus say He was God, but He proved it by His life, death, resurrection, and ascension.  ALL the fullness of God exists in Him. Our knowing this causes us to want to raise our voices in praise!

Lord Jesus, I praise You; You in whom all the fullness of DEITY dwells!

01/31/2013

“I sought the Lord, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. The righteous cry, and the Lord hears And delivers them out of all their troubles.”

Psalm 34:4, 17

Do you have any fears or troubles? If so, Psalm 34 offers great consolation.  God answers those who seek Him. He hears when Christians cry out to Him. What does DELIVER mean? It means to rescue.  Do you long for someone to rescue you from your fears or troubles? Seek the Lord! Cry out to Him!

Lord, I praise You for being my DELIVERER! I am seeking You and crying out.

COMPASSIONATE

01/28/2013

“Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth.”

 Exodus 34:6

Do you work with someone who isn’t very compassionate? Or, perhaps, you’re going through a tough time and could use a little compassion from a family member or friend; yet they’re anything BUT compassionate.  The Hebrew root word from which “compassion” is derived means “to love deeply, have mercy, be compassionate, have tender affection.” It describes God’s compassion for you.  So, in the absence of human compassion, be assured that God deeply loves you.

LORD, thank You for deeply loving me.  I praise You, COMPASSIONATE LORD!

CAPTAIN OF THE HOSTS

01/27/2013

…. I indeed come now as captain of the host of the Lord.’

And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said to him, ‘What has my lord to say to his servant?’  The captain of the Lord’s host said to Joshua, ‘Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.’ And Joshua did so.”

Joshua 5:14-15

Do you have a whopper of a problem before you? Perhaps you’re even where the Lord has led you, but the situation seems more than you can handle.  When Joshau found himself in a tough place, the Lord appeared to him and introduced Himself as Captain of  the Host of the LordJoshua bowed down and said, “What has my lord to say to his servant?” The Lord told Joshua that the place he was standing was holy ground; then told him what to do. May each of us bow before the Captain of the Host of the Lord this morning and follow His instructions.

CAPTAIN of the HOSTS of the LORD, I bow before You and praise You. Speak to my heart and lead me today.

CHOICE CORNER STONE

01/26/2013

Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.”

1 Peter 2:6

Are you often disappointed? Maybe a person doesn’t do what they said they’d do. Or something doesn’t work out the way you hoped it would. Life is full of disappointments. But in the middle of all our disappointments, there is ONE who will never disappoint:  Jesus. The Bible describes Him as a CHOICE CORNER STONE.  God has set Him in place. He wants us to build our lives around Him.  We who believe in Him will NOT be disappointed.  Look heavenward today in your disappointed. He’s there for you.

I praise you, Lord Jesus, God’s CHOICE CORNER STONE!
