Rub a Dub-Dub Bible Poems

“I’m healthy as a horse” I told the thoracic surgeon when he asked, “How are you?” After giving me a comforting smile, he shook my world. “I think you have stage 3 lung cancer.” Me? Returning home, my prayer became, “Why, Lord? How can you use this?” 

Rub a Dub-Dub, a children’s book I’d written years before, came to mind and how it could be a comfort and distraction to children undergoing cancer treatment; as well as provide hope and encouragement to parents or caregivers. Hope…a word that became more meaningful to me with each treatment of chemo, surgery, and radiation.
