LIFE
Have you ever looked for “life” in someone or something apart from Jesus? Perhaps in your younger years you were called “the life of the party.” Maybe you bought into the idea that the right job, house, car, or person would bring you all in life you wanted. But, they were either illusive, disappointing, or simply fell short of the life for which you longed. Our hearts will never be happy until they are at home with the Lord. He is our life – the life for which we yearn.
Lord, You are the way, the truth, and the LIFE! In praise of you, I bow and worship You.

LAWGIVER
Isaiah 33:22
I like this verse because it reminds me that laws aren’t meant to defeat me, but rather save me. Just as we “lay down the law” to children, “Look right and left before crossing the street;” God gives us moral and ethical laws so we don’t get run over by life. Try living apart from God’s laws, and you’ll eventually see the harm of it. The Lord is our lawgiver, judge, king, and Savior. We do well to listen to Him.
Lord, I praise You, LAWGIVER, who spares me from devastation by the laws You set before me.

LAVISH IN GRACE
Lavish in Grace. If you wanted to explain your Savior to someone, would you use that description of God? I would.
Lord, You are LAVISH IN GRACE! I am so grateful!

LAST ADAM
The first Adam ushered sin into the world and thus, death. Christ, referred to as the last Adam, ushered righteousness into the world, and therefore life. It’s one thing to be a living soul, which is what humans are. It’s another to have Christ’s life-giving spirit within you, which Christians have. If you’ve never received Christ’s life-giving spirit, receive Him today.
Prayer to Receive Christ: Lord God, thank You for Christ, the last Adam, who offers righteousness to me through His life-giving Spirit. I acknowledge that I’ve sinned against You and others. I know I can’t live a holy, acceptable life on my own. I turn to You and ask You to forgive me, wash away my sins, and fill me with Christ’s life-giving Spirit. Teach me to walk in Christ’s ways the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer of Praise: Lord Jesus, I praise You, the LAST ADAM, the life-gife giving spirit. What a joy to have You in my heart. You bring me all pleasure. I praise You!
Record your prayer, praise, and date in your journal, Prayers of My Heart.

KING OF SAINTS
Don’t you love it when you hear a new way that God is described? King of Saints. I like that. Don’t you?
Lord God, KING OF SAINTS, I love and adore You!

KING OF GLORY
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
Who is the King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O gates,
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory.”
KING OF GLORY, we lift up our hands, hearts, minds, and souls in praise of You.

JEALOUS
I love it when God says, “this is my name.” Then, in case we aren’t paying attention, He repeats Himself. “Hellooooo! Is anybody listening? I’m jealous when you worship other gods. Don’t do it!”
Lord God, You are JEALOUS for my affection and worship. And that I do.

INTERCESSOR
When God says something one time, we need to pay attention. When He speaks it twice in the same breath, we need to sit up and take notice. God voices two times that He gets it that there are times when we don’t know how or what to pray. But, we’re not to worry. The Holy Spirit does an internal investigation of our hearts. Then, He intercedes on our behalf. He speaks to God for us. How cool is that?
Holy One, What a joy to know that You INTERCEDE for me when I’m weak and don’t know what to pray. Thank You! I praise You! Please pass that along to the FATHER.

INSCRUTABLE
The word “inscrutable” comes from two Hebrew words that describe God’s understanding. The New International Version of the Bible uses the word fathom in this verse: “His understanding no one can fathom.” The New King James Version says it this way, “His understanding is unsearchable.” We get the point. When we look to God, we’re praying to One who understands us better than we understand ourselves. He understands our situations better than we do. And, we’ll never understand everything about God. Trust and faith are important elements of our prayers and praise.
Lord, You are INSCRUTABLE. Your understanding no one can fathom. I look to You in praise and trust!

INNOCENT
Have you ever felt guilty? Isn’t it a horrible feeling? What do you do with guilt? You can’t hide it, shake it, or even bury it. It clings to you like a cat. Nails dug in, it’s determined to not let you go. There is one person who never experienced guilt. Until He hung on the cross and took our guilt upon Himself, Jesus was innocent. Can you imagine going from a state of holy innocent to one of overwhelming sin and shame? Our Lord did that. He loves us so.
My wonderful, Lord, You, the INNOCENT one, took my shame and guilt so that I might be declared innocent. Thank You! Thank You!
