Deuteronomy 32:4

It’s True – Nobody’s Perfect – But Jesus

08/24/2025

Have you ever defended your bad behavior by saying, “Nobody’s perfect“? Or has someone ever said to you, “Nobody’s perfect” in defense of something they’ve done? It’s a common response because it’s true. No human being is perfect. But Jesus pointed out that God the Father is. “Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5:48).

Perfect…the height of virtue and integrity. It is God’s height of virtue and integrity that Jesus directs us to and calls us to seek after. Rather than Jesus letting us off the hook, He sees the potential for us to be transformed into His likeness through His Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

Transformation requires that we be intentional. We look intently at who God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are.

In what ways does the Bible point to God being perfect?

Our Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit are perfect. They are the Ones to whom we can look and follow.

Lord, You are PERFECT. Thank You for Your perfect character, works, laws, faithfulness, peace, patience, love and more. As I look at You, transform me into Your image.

How Refreshing that God is Upright, Not Fallen Like the World

11/20/2021

120 years. That’s how old Moses was when he commissioned Joshua to take his place. Moses’s words, ever so eloquent, are recorded in Deuteronomy 32. I’d love for you to read them. In verses 2-3, Moses poured forth, “Let my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, … For I proclaim the name of the Lord.” Moses continues, “UPRIGHT is He.”

Why did Moses say that God is upright? He wanted us to know that God is believable. He is just, true, and His word is just and true.*

As we go about our lives in a fallen world where people act unjustly and speak untrue words, let Mose’s refreshing words of praise to God wash over you – God and His Word are upright, just, and true! Blessings on you, friend.

UPRIGHT LORD GOD, we praise You that You and Your Word are upright, just, and true. All praise and glory belong to You!

Righteous and UPRIGHT is He.”
