Jeremiah 31:12

Feeling a Little Wilted?

01/31/2024

Have you ever walked through an unwatered garden of wilted plants? If so, you noticed there was little fruit, if any.

What a difference when you walk through a well-watered garden; one loved and tended to by the owner. Flowers and fruit abound. The garden has a fragrant aroma. The gardener has withheld nothing and has committed everything to care for the plants.

In Jeremiah 31:12 God is described as a Gardner and His people like a well-watered garden.

“They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion, and they will be radiant over the bounty of the Lord—and their life will be like a watered garden, and they will never languish again.”

If you are languishing and are spiritually wilted, I understand. Life can drain us at times. But rather than stay that way, go to your Heavenly Father. Open your Bible. Soak in His words. Be refreshed by His Spirit.

BOUNTIFUL Lord, thank You that although life can be draining, we don’t have to be dry and languish. Rather, in You, we find an ever present supply and flow of love, joy, peace, and strength that provides bountifully for all we need. We praise You and give You thanks.

Wilted or Watered?

LISTEN

Have you ever walked through an unwatered garden? The plants are wilted. The leaves are yellow. There’s little, if any fruit. Stroll out of that garden and into a well watered garden; one loved by the owner. What do you see? The plants are full and perky. The leaves are green. The garden is filled with a beautiful fragrance. Flowers and fruit abound. The gardener has held withheld nothing and has committed everything to care for each plant. Jeremiah 31:12 speaks of the bounty of the Lord and a well watered garden. It says, “They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion, and they will be radiant over the bounty of the Lord—and their life will be like a watered garden, and they will never languish again.” God is BOUNTIFUL in His love and care toward us. We do well to remember that.

Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You, BOUNTIFUL Lord!

Praise to Our BOUNTIFUL LORD

They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion,
And they will be radiant over the bounty of the Lord

And their life will be like a watered garden,
And they will never languish again.

Jeremiah 31:12

Have you walked through an unwatered garden? The plants are wilted. The leaves are yellow. Little or no fruit can be found. Stroll out of that garden and into a well watered garden; one loved by the owner. What do you notice? Flowers and fruit abound. The gardener has held nothing back in order to care for each plant. When we consider whom our Lord is who reigns on high, be assured, HE is BOUNTIFUL in His love, care, and goodness.

Heavenly Father, we praise You, BOUNTIFUL Lord!

BOUNTIFUL GOD

“They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion,

And they will be radiant over the bounty of the Lord—Over the grain and the new wine and the oil,

And over the young of the flock and the herd; And their life will be like a watered garden,

And they will never languish again.”

Jeremiah 31:12

Do you ever feel dry? How about worn out? Does “lifeless” sometimes describe you? Or, do you long for the day when you’re not barely squeaking by financially? If you are a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, you are in for a day when you are shouting for joy; when you are absolutely radiant. Shouting for joy over what? Radiant about what? The bounty of the Lord. He’s going to open the floodgate and you’ll be the recipient of His great bounty!

Heavenly Father, we can hardly wait for the day when we see You face to face; when we are radiant and shouting for joy. Come quickly, BOUNTIFUL LORD!
