Claim Your Place as A Child of the Kingdom of Light

08/25/2023

Have you ever been in a “dark place”? Perhaps you are now. Everywhere you look it’s dark and what’s worse – you don’t see a way out.  If you have been there or you are now, can you imagine what it would be like to be in darkness forever and to know that you’d never ever escape? God and Satan are powerful. They each have domains/kingdoms.  Satan’s domain is a place of evil and darkness. (Colossians 1:13)  First John 5:19 tells us the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.  That is, you lie in the power of the evil one unless you have responded to God’s invitation to rescue you from the domain of darkness and transfer you to the kingdom of His beloved Son. (Colossians 1:13)  If you’re a Christian and in a dark place today because of circumstances beyond your control or even because of sin, run to your Savior.  Stand against the darkness by singing songs of praise to Jesus. Lift your hands and voice in praise to God. Claim your place as a child of the kingdom of light. If you have not yet responded to God’s invitation to rescue you, why not? Please consider His invitation.  If you have friends or family who doesn’t know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, you can prayerfully share this with them.

Lord Jesus, You are our RESCUER! We love You! We thank You! We praise You for rescuing us and transferring us to Your kingdom.

“He RESCUED US from the DOMAIN of DARKNESS, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.” Colossians 1:13

Walk Out of the Dark and In the Light

09/26/2019

LISTEN

Have you ever been in a “dark place”? Perhaps you are now. Everywhere you look, it’s dark, and what’s worse – you don’t see a way out. If you have been there or you are now, can you imagine what it would be like to be there forever, and to know that you’d never escape? God and Satan are powerful. They each have domains, or kingdoms.  God’s domain is heaven and light. Satan’s domain is hell and darkness. First John 1:19 explains “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” But, the good news of Colossians 1:13 is that Christ RESCUED us from the domain of darkness.  Rather than walk in the darkness of worldly discouragement, look up to the glorious light of Christ. Ask Him to infuse you with His light; to give you His eyes to see the hope you have in Him. You have the God of eternity on your side. Thank Him. Praise Him. Walk out of the evil one’s lies and in the Light of your hope in Christ.

Lord Jesus, You have RESCUED us from the domain of darkness. Infuse us with Your light so we walk as children of Light. We love You and praise You!

“He RESCUED US from the DOMAIN of DARKNESS, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.”

You’re Getting Out of that Dark Hole

09/21/2018

LISTEN

Have you ever been in a “dark place;” a pit of despair? Perhaps you are now. Everywhere you look, it’s dark, and what’s worse – you don’t see a way out.  Hi. I’m Debbie Taylor Williams with Beyond Ourselves. If you have been there or you are there now, can you imagine what it would be like to be there forever, and to know that you’d never ever escape? God and Satan are powerful. They each have domains, or kingdoms.  Throughout the Bible, they’re spoken of: heaven and hell. Satan’s domain is a place of darkness. First John 1:19 explains “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” But, the good news of Colossians 1:13 is that Christ RESCUED us from that domain of darkness.  If you’re a Christian and in a “dark” place today because of circumstances beyond your control or perhaps even because of sin, be encouraged.  Your permanent residence is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Lord Jesus, You are our RESCUER! We love You! We thank You! We praise You!

Praise to Our RESCUER

09/26/2017

“He RESCUED US from the DOMAIN of DARKNESS, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.”

Colossians 1:13

Have you ever been in a “dark place;” a pit of despair? Perhaps you’re there now. Everywhere you look, it’s dark, and what’s worse – you don’t see a way out.  If you’ve ever been “there” or you are now, can you imagine what it would be like to be there forever, and to know that you’d never ever escape? God and Satan are powerful. They each have domains…kingdoms.  Throughout the Bible, these domains are discussed. They’re heaven and hell.  Satan’s domain is a place of darkness. It’s not only a place, the Bible also speaks of darkness as a metaphor for “darkened” understanding; such as “ignorance about divine things as well as ungodliness and immorality together with their consequent misery in hell.”** 1 John 1:19 explains “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” But, the apostle Paul explains that Christ Jesus has literally RESCUED us from the domain of darkness. Just like a firefighter who dashes into a blazing building, rescues someone, and carries them to safety, our Lord has dashed Satan’s realm, RESCUED us, and carried us to His kingdom. If you’re a Christian and in a “dark” place because of circumstances beyond your control or even because of sin, Christ wants you to know that what you’re experiencing is temporary. He came from heaven to rescue you, and He’ll keep rescuing you. Your eternal place is reserved in Christ’s kingdom, and you’re invited to His presence today.

Lord Jesus, You are our RESCUER! We love You! We thank You! We praise You!

RESCUER

04/20/2013

“He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.”

Colossians 1:13

There IS a domain of darkness. In the Bible, darkness is a metaphor for “darkened” understanding; such as “ignorance about divine things as well as ungodliness and immorality together with their consequent misery in hell.”** 1 John 1:19 explains “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” But, Christ Jesus has literally rescued us. Just like a firefighter who dashes into a blazing building, rescues someone, and carries them to safety, our Lord has dashed Satan’s realm, rescued us, and carried us to His kingdom. That’s something to think about with a grateful heart.

Lord Jesus, You are my RESCUER! I love You! I thank You! I praise You!
