Who Can You Believe?
Do you ever wonder who you can believe? One person says one thing and another claims the opposite. Yes, it can sometimes be difficult to know who to believe, but not in the case of Jesus’ words. Revelation 1:5 describes Jesus Christ as “the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood-” Jesus is a faithful witness. A witness of what? He witnessed to us about heaven, His Father, angels, crowns of righteousness awaiting believers, resurrection bodies, thrones, powers, kingdoms, the judgment seat, forgiveness, redemption, His Father’s house, and about Satan. Jesus testified about the fact that Abraham, Noah, Moses, and Jonah were real people and that the Old Testament is true. Our confidence in the Bible and its teachings solidly rests on Christ because He is a faithful witness to us that they are true.
Lord Jesus, we praise You, the faithful WITNESS! Thank You for the confidence we have in the Bible and You because of Your word.

When You Put Your Head On Your Pillow Tonight
Do you sometimes wonder what our world will be like in the future? Revelation 1:5 tells us. “Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the RULER of the KINGS of the EARTH…” Yes, one day Christ will rule the earth. Can you imagine what bliss that will be? Naysayers will be nowhere to be found. Lying. What’s that? Shooting sprees. What are you talking about? Yes, one day, the supreme RULER whose reign has no end and who reigns with justice and with mercy will rule the kings of the earth. If you’re a citizen of Christ’s kingdom that’s something joyful to think about when you put your head on your pillow tonight.
Lord Jesus Christ, what a glorious blessing to look forward to Your reign as RULER of the kings of the earth.

If you’re a believer, you’re a citizen of Christ’s kingdom. That’s good to remember when you put your head on your pillow tonight.

Our confidence in the Bible and its teachings rests on the faithful witness of Christ Jesus.

Do you sometimes wonder about our world and what the future holds? Revelation 1:5 gives us great comfort. It reminds us to look heavenward in confidence to the RULER OF THE KINGS OF THE EARTH. While things may seem (or be) chaotic in regard to the rulers of our earth; there is ONE who supreme RULER. He reigns with justice and mercy. All praise to our Heavenly King!
