Revelation 15:3
4 Marvelous’s to Know About

- His MARVELOUS WORKS. In Revelation 15:3 Moses celebrates the works God has done. “’Great and MARVELOUS are Your WORKS, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!’” In what way do you see God working in your life or in the life of someone close to you? Wouldn’t you agree God is marvelous?
- His MARVELOUS LOVINGKINDNESS. The psalmist writes, “Blessed be the LORD, for He has made marvelous His lovingkindness to me in a besieged city.” Psalm 31:21. In these verses, marvelous means “wonderful, surpassing, extraordinary, separate by distinguishing action. Doesn’t that fit our Lord’s lovingkindness? It’s surpassing, extraordinary, and His death for our sins is distinguishable.
- His MARVELOUS SALVATION. In Matthew 21:42, Jesus asks, “‘Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone; THIS CAME ABOUT FROM THE LORD, AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES‘?” Jesus used the word “marvelous” in relation to God’s plan for saving mankind. It means “worthy of pious admiration, admirable, excellent, passing human comprehension, causing amazement joined with terror, extraordinary, striking, surprising.” Each of those words define how marvelous God’s plan of salvation is.
- His MARVELOUS LIGHT. First Peter 2:9 is one of my favorite Scriptures because it defines who we are and our purpose. “But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His MARVELOUS LIGHT.” We have a message to tell of the excellencies of Christ. We are not in darkness, but rather in marvelous light; meaning “excellent, extraordinary, striking, surprising light.”
Yes, today we’re again amazed at our Marvelous Lord and bow in reverence and praise. Add “MARVELOUS” in Prayers of My Heart in whichever place you’ve chosen to record His attributes and names. I use the first column of Week At A Glance. But you can also use the Month at a Glance section if you’re not recording your 3 daily gratitudes there.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, You are marvelous in Your work, love, kindness, salvation, and light. We celebrate and worship You!
Behind the Backdrop of the Fireworks Display

With the night sky as a backdrop, the July 4th crowd “ooh” and “awe” at the firework display. I can’t help but grin at how easily amused we are. Certainly, our Heavenly Father, who created the backdrop, must be smiling. I wonder if His Son ever leans over and says, “Aren’t they going to be blown away when they see the Light display of Us?” Who will see the glorious display of LIGHTS and GLORY emanating from the throne? Those who have placed their faith in the KING of the NATIONS. Yes, all people throughout the world who have responded “yes” to Jesus’s gift of salvation will be at the Heavenly display of LIGHTS. How can we be certain that Jesus is the Savior of not only the Jews but of all the nations of the world? Jesus himself said He is as recorded in Matthew 28:16-20, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
This year, as you admire the firework display, look beyond it to Who made the backdrop. Say a prayer of thanks to the One who is behind the black curtain and that when it is drawn, you’ll see a fireworks display like never before emanating from God’s throne. Happy July 4th!
Heavenly Father, we smile in anticipation of the display of GLORY emanating from YOU, KING of the NATIONS. Stir our hearts to live for more than our pleasure; to rather live for Your pleasure – the salvation of souls throughout the world.
A Good Name to Be Called
Who’s your president?
Who’s your king?
If a foreigner asked us who our king is, we might reply that in the US we have a president; not a king. But, is that totally true? If we’re a believer, we have a king. Our King is victorious over Satan. Our King purchased us with Christ’s blood. Our King transferred us from Satan’s domain to His glorious Kingdom. Our King sealed us with His HOLY Spirit. Our King’s laws are eternal and good. And, He refers to us not as His subjects, but as His Saints. “Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou KING OF SAINTS,” Revelation 15:3 NKJ. Day in and day out, how mindful are we that we have a King? How mindful are we that we are His saints?
Our KING, forgive us when we ignore You and Your authority. Help us be mindful of You as we go about our day in Your kingdom. Help us be mindful that we are Your saints. May we represent You well to family, friends, and others.
Praise to Our MARVELOUS LORD

Don’t you love it when you hear a new way that God is described? King of Saints. I like that. Don’t you?
Lord God, KING OF SAINTS, I love and adore You!

KING of the NATIONS
“Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations!”
Revelation 15:3
Some people think God is whom they decide Him to be. In other words, they form in their minds what God is like and voila – out comes their god. The fact is, God is who He is regardless of what we think. We do well to base our understanding on His revelation of Himself: King of the Nations who will judge the world in righteousness.
I praise you, KING of the NATIONS, and give honor and glory to You!
