When You Need Insight

11/25/2019

Do you have a problem? Are you in a quandary about what to do about something in your life? If you are in need of insight about a course of action or a relationship, look to Christ. Why? Proverbs 3:19 tells us that He is a God of intelligence, skill, and insight which is proved by His creation of the earth and heavens. “The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens.” The Hebrew word for understanding means “intelligence, skill, and insight.” In other words, when we look at the earth and heavens, we’re seeing evidence of God’s intelligence, skill, and insight. Trust God to provide you with the wisdom, intelligence, skill, and insight you need for daily life, decisions, and relationships. Pray.

Jesus, we praise You that You are a God of UNDERSTANDING to whom we can look for skill and insight.

When You Need Insight

12/13/2018

Do you have a problem? Are you in a quandary about what to do about something in your life? If you are in need of insight about a course of action or a relationship, look to Christ. Why? Proverbs 3:19 tells us that He is a God of intelligence, skill, and insight; well-proved by His creation of the earth and heavens. “The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens.” The Hebrew word for UNDERSTANDING, means “intelligence, skill, and insight.” In other words, when we look at the earth and heavens, we’re seeing evidence of God’s intelligence, skill, and insight. Trust God to provide you with the wisdom, intelligence, skill, and insight you need for daily life, decisions, and relationships.

Jesus, we praise You that You are a God of UNDERSTANDING to whom we can look for skill and insight.

Praise to Our UNDERSTANDING Lord

12/06/2017

“The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens.”

Do you have a problem? Are you confronted with a challenge? Guess what! You have a Helper. That’s what Jesus calls the Holy Spirit in John 14:16 and again in verse 26. A Helper who is always with us.  I think that if the LORD established the heavens by UNDERSTANDING, which in the Hebrew language means “intelligence, skill, and insight;” then He’s an incredible source for us to go to with our problems and challenges. Think of the intelligence, skill, and insight He can give when we call on Him for help.

LORD, we praise You that You are a God of UNDERSTANDING and that we can come to You for help.

UNDERSTANDING

01/24/2014

“…we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His (God’s) will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

Colossians 1:9

Last year we looked at who God is. This year we’re looking at who we are in Christ.Today, we’re considering the gift of “understanding.” Understanding “is what the Greeks sometimes described as critical knowledge, meaning the ability to apply first principles to any given situation which may arise in life.” When Paul prays for believers to have wisdom and understanding, he’s praying we not only understand the great truths of Christianity, but we also apply them to everyday living. In other words, it’s not enough to have head knowledge of God’s Word. We must take the great teachings of the Bible and apply them to our hearts and daily lives. We must connect the dotes between what the Bible teaches about child rearing and how we actually raise our children. We must connect the dots between what the Bible teaches about marriage and how we treat our spouse; between what the Bible teaches about difficult people and how we handle relationships.

Perhaps we’re sometimes “basket cases” because we fill our minds with spiritual teachings, but leave them at the church door rather than apply them when our child is upset, we’re under financial pressure, our spouse angers us, we’re at wits end with a co-worker, or despair looms like a black cloud. But, we have a choice! We can choose to live filled with God’s gift of understanding.

Lord, thank You that You not only supply Biblical truths, but through the filling and empowerment of the Holy Spirit, I can apply Your teachings to my life.

UNDERSTANDING

10/08/2013

“The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens.”

Proverbs 3:19

Do you have a problem? Are you confronted with a challenge? Guess what! You have a Helper. At least that’s what Jesus calls the Holy Spirit in John 14:16 and again in verse 26. A Helper who is always with us.  I think that if the LORD established the heavens by UNDERSTANDING, which in the Hebrew means intelligence, skill, and insight; then He’s an incredible source for us to go to with our problems and challenges. Think of the intelligence, skill, and insight He can give when we call on Him for help.

LORD, I praise You that You are a God of UNDERSTANDING who provides heavenly intelligence, skill, and insight when I come to You in prayer.

INFINITE in UNDERSTANDING

03/10/2013

“Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.”

Psalm 147:5

Have you ever said, “I don’t understand why….”? Or, “I can’t understand how…”? One of the ways God is described is infinite in understanding. In other words, his understanding is infinite: limitless, endless, impossible to measure.  When we begin to calculate God’s ability to understand us, another person, or a situation; we must not use our limited understanding as a measure of God’s infinite understanding. Rather, we can look in awe to HIM whose understanding is infinite.

I praise you Lord, for your UNDERSTANDING IS INFINITE!
