Do you feel hopeless? Has the last bit of hope to which you’ve clung just flown out the window? Does your future seem bleak and although you’ve tried to “pull yourself up by your bootstraps,” as the saying goes, it hasn’t worked?

The good news is, if you’re a Christian, you have every reason to ditch thoughts of hopelessness. Why? You know the GOD OF HOPE. Not only do you know Him, He has promised to always be with you. What’s more, He’s not only with you, He’s in you.

Romans 15:13 helps us understand what we need to do when we feel hopeless. “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Paul points out that what we need is for the Holy Spirit, the God of Hope, to fill us. We need Him who is joy and peace and power to consume our very being. What is our part? Believing.

In other words, our hope is not based on luck, our ability to make things happen, or what another person does or says. It’s not even a question of if we have hope. If we’re a believer, we have hope in the Holy Spirit as Romans 15:13 points out. “Now may the God of hope…” “Fill you…” is the key.

When we are down, we must ask ourselves, “Am I allowing the GOD OF HOPE to fill me with His joy and peace?”

You can experience hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Believe God is on the throne and that He sees you and loves you. In faith, pray, “GOD OF HOPE, fill me with the joy and peace of the Holy Spirit.”

GOD OF HOPE, thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit so we can abound in hope by Your power. We love and adore You.

Consider the wonder and intricacy of our universe: it is so complex and finely tuned. This is not random! God, the Creator of the universe, designed it this way, and He desires a relationship with YOU!

Do you ever feel like you “can’t breathe” be

Do you ever feel like you “can’t breathe” because you have so much weighing on you? Or maybe you’re running so fast through each day you feel like you “can’t catch your breath.”

Have you ever felt you “had the breath knocked out of you” because of financial, physical, emotional, or relational blows.

What can we do if we experience any of the above?

We can turn to our Heavenly Father.

Isaiah 42:5-6 says, “Thus says God the Lord, who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it, I am the LORD, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, and I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the nations.”

What comforting words. God gives us His breath and His spirit so we can walk through our day. He holds us by the hand and watches over us. He has appointed us as a light to the nations.

Our identity, comfort, and purpose are God-breathed.

In difficult days when you are trying to “catch your breath,” hold your Bible close to you. Breathe deeply of the Spirit.

LORD, thank You for GIVING BREATH and Your Spirit to me. Use me as a light to the nations.

Which team are you for?” “Which candidate are you for?” We often talk about who we’re for. But have you ever thought about who is for you? Perhaps you’re blessed with a friend or family member who is for you. But what if you aren’t? What if you fight your daily battles alone? What if there is no one who stands with you and encourages you?

God has an important message for us in Romans 8:31. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is For Us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over For Us all…”

GOD is FOR YOU. Not only is He not against you, the fact that He’s for us is amazing. Say it out loud with emphasis. “God is for me. God is for me.”

God is for us saving our souls. God is for us rescuing us from the domain of darkness. Jesus is for us preparing a place in heaven. Jesus is for us, sitting at the right hand of God interceding for us. God the Father and Son are so for us that Jesus took our place on the cross.

The next time you’re tempted to feel sorry for yourself or Satan whispers, “you’re doing life all alone,” answer back loud and clear. “God is with me and FOR ME.” Then, tell someone who does not have a relationship with Jesus what it means to you to have God for you.

Pray this 🙏🏼 Heavenly Father, precious Savior, thank You for being FOR US. We praise You, thank You, and pray our lives reflect our gratitude.

Did anyone else get teary while observing the glory of the eclipse? All I've wanted to do all day is sing "Holy, Holy, Holy." I'm reminded of Revelation 21:23, "And the city (the new Jerusalem) has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb." Can I get a hallelujah?
