Just wanted to let you know a friend of mine went to the Spiritual Seekers Seminar in OK, and she bought me one of your books "Pray with Purpose Live with Passion." I wanted to let you know, I have just finished chapter 7, and what a God sent book, thank you for allowing God to use you to write this book. This Review is from Lily
Good morning Debbie,
I have a PRAISE to share with you. When you were at a speaking engagement in New Mexico at Central Baptist about a month or so ago. I was blessed to be there that day. Unknown to me GOD had a real purpose in me being there. A dear friend walked up to me and gave me your book Pray with Purpose, Live Passion and said The Lord told her to buy it for me. I was and still am ever so grateful for that gift as I was and have been changed in my personal prayer life since that day. I now have brought this book to share with the ladies in our church. This Review is from Cristina (London,UK)
"Hello, Debbie! I've garnered many blessings from your ministry (and your books -- Pray With Purpose, Live With Passion) and the WONDERFUL If God Is In Control, Why Do I Have A Headache? workbook!!! thank you! This Review is from
I just started a new Bible study at my church, and I am finding that I learned so much over the past few months of studying Pray with Purpose, Live with Passion. Things that used to "trip me up" aren't anymore. I know the answers to the difficult questions. (Not ALL the difficult questions, of course, but the ones we've encountered thus far!)
I am so excited about sharing what God has taught me -- through recent Bible study with you -- with this entirely new group of ladies.
I wanted you to know that your study is reaching far more than just the hands that hold the book. It's reaching everyone that experienced the study themselves, the people they touch, those that follow them, and so on. Thank you! This Review is from Gary
I have just finished reading your book and I am moved to write you this note. What an extraordinary work. It's an exegesis of prayer, life, and the many aspects of God, and it opens roads to approaching Him. Your scholarship and storytelling are channeled into clear messages and ways to refresh our walks, and to be liberated from defeat. Your conclusions are compelling and true to the Word and the Spirit. The "looping in the wilderness" is such a powerful image. I had never read the "stiff neck" references in the Old Testament in the way you present them, nor have I ever heard such a clear idea of yielding as you present. While reading, I felt many a twinge of appropriate, if unwanted, self-reflection, which is what a book that points to getting on one's knees requires. This Review is from Pat
I could not let this morning go by without saying "Thank you for your yielding to our Lord!" I have had a deep desire to deepen my prayer life and my relationship with my Lord, but not knowing just how to accomplish that desire-then God answered my prayer by leading me to this Bible Study. I feel as though I now have the tools to lead me to a deeper relationship with my Lord and His Word. I can already feel the difference as I pray and study His Word that He is leading me into a deeper relationship with Him.This Review is from Jane
Debbie, One of Betty's ladies told her that the more she digs into this study the more she finds. She compared it to mining for gold. I agree! This is an awesome study. -

I have to tell you it was with a real "oh! no!" moment when I opened my book and realized it was the last session. You have brought to life the people that Paul was trying desperately to reach and the love with which he wrote to Christians striving to keep them close to our Savior and to give them a strong, enduring faith. This Review is from Sandy
I just wanted you to know that I have taken several of your bible studies as far back as Bible Study Fellowship and I think I have been blessed more by "If God Is In Control, Why Am I A Basket Case?", than any other. I am so thankful that you have allowed God to work in your life this way and you will never know how much you have blessed so many of us in this community and anywhere His work is being sent through you. Bless you and all those who work with you in this ministry. This Review is from Mary
Dear Debbie, I just finished the "Basket Case Study" this has touched my heart every week and every week I wanted to write you but as I finished this morning my favorite song came on "Amazing Love" as I sat --and as always cried-- I had to write you and tell you how important this study has been to me. We moved here three months ago from family and friends and I realized as I was finishing this study, HOME is where my heart is with God because even in prison Paul was "at Home" and never waivering in his love and devotion and commitment to Jesus Christ. God is so wise in how he shows us things to think I almost did not come to your study, he again was reminding me to always know he is near and be his faithful, beloved daughter. Thank You (I consider you as I do all my Bible Study Sisters a Sister in Christ) --Your Loving Sister in Christ. This Review is from Deena
Something dawned on me recently, and while I'm not proud of it, I feel compelled to share, in case someone else out there is in the same boat I found myself in. While I read my Bible quite a bit, and read a lot of books about the Bible, I discovered I don't study it as much as I used to, or as much as I ought to. Sad, isn't it?
So, rather than shrug my shoulders and mosey on my way, I chose to take action. And what compounds the sadness is the fact that I've been sent some marvelous Bible studies, like this one from New Hope Publishing--and it's been sitting on my shelf while I've been plowing away at book reviews. No more!
"If God Is In Control, Why Am I A Basket Case?" is an excellent study in the Book of Colossians. Debbie Taylor Williams has a knack for creating fun and interactive Bible studies that even the newest believer can dive into and find some nuggets to gnaw on.
She opens with some historical facts about the book, then leads us to dive in headfirst. Each five day study begins with a fictional Mary, anticipating the letter from Paul the apostle.
Each day is short, but packed with truth that we can then apply to our lives through her 'basket case' or 'extraordinary life' exercise at the end of each daily assignment.
This is perfect for personal study, or in a group. Each lesson takes around 20 minutes to complete, and is easy to follow and the questions are easy to respond to. I'm in the first week, and I'm loving it.
I'm giving Debbie's study on Colossians five out of five bookmarks, with a highlighter and a pen as charms. My thanks to Debbie for sending me my own copy.
Happy Reading! -

Trusting God's People Again CONFERENCE: Invite Debbie to speak to kick off your church-wide conference or life group. This Review is from Dr. Larry Crabb
author of Shattered Dreams and The Pressure’s Off
Our longing for community is a hot topic. Programs, ideas, and resources have flooded the Christian marketplace. One thing is glaringly missing: an honest discussion of how Christians hurt each other and what to do about it. This book fills the gap. Its biblical wisdom and painful realis, point the way to knowing God better and reflecting Him more clearly in the way we related when we’ve been wounded. Vital reading! This Review is from D.L. Lowrie
Pastor Emeritus, First Baptist Church, Lubbock, Texas
The Father has uniquely prepared Blake Coffee and Debbie Williams to join in a writing project that can be a healing balm to the wounded. I wish I had been armed by these insights as a young minister attempting to lead a congregation of wounded saints! This Review is from Don Guthrie
Pastor, First Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas
For 11 years it has been my privilege to admire Blake Coffee, to observe first-hand his God-given abilities to help people in conflict and after conflict. The ideas that fill this book have been taught in our congregation with powerful, positive results. Debbie Williams’ fictional story adds a new and compelling impact. As a pastor, I’ve seen the benefits for people who encounter the wisdom of God through this excellent book. I think you will, too. This Review is from Joyce Handzo
If a fellow believer in Christ has ever hurt you, Trusting God's People...Again can help you explore your feelings and encourage a scriptural response to your situation. The authors quote an astounding statistic that anywhere from 15% to 40% of Christians have felt betrayed and wounded by the church. These numbers show that this issue is prevalent across the country and needs to be addressed. These pages recognize the very real pain people are experiencing, as well as the One who has the power to heal those hearts. It should be immediately noted that this book doesn't offer a lot of empty platitudes, or clever phrases to cover up the hurt Christians have. Instead, the authors directly tie in sound biblical principles with contemporary situations, showing readers real solutions to their circumstances. To highlight the relevancy of Scripture in our modern world, a selection of fictional journal entries, by a woman named Mavis, parallel the main teaching of this book. The words of Mavis are brutally honest and capture many of the thoughts and feelings a wounded believer has. Readers will watch her transition from disappointment and anger to enlightenment and understanding. In a special way, Mavis invites wounded Christians to come alongside her, as she crawls and stumbles to a place of peace. Her story is full of raw emotion and will resonant with many believers.
This book has been successful in support groups for people hurt by the church. The biblical principles are sound and encourage a response from readers. There is a steady progression of ideas expressed here, from reconciliation to recommitment to re-engaging in the church. This is not a book to merely read and close, while nodding your head at the implications. Readers will examine some hard issues like reconciling with those who hurt you, and recommitting to God as a major part of the healing process. The authors don't gloss over the problems, but strive to connect with wounded believers through an intellectual, emotional and spiritual pathway that will bring about a permanent and peaceful closure to their situations.
