SUPPORT
“They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support.”
2 Samuel 22:19
Does it amaze you how many different ways God is described? Today our focus is on how God is our support. Do you ever wish you had more support at work? Perhaps you wish you had support parenting your children. Or, you may wish you had a supportive spouse or friend. I remember one night long ago when I grasped that God was my support. I was in a position where no one could help me. It wasn’t that they wouldn’t, it was simply something I had to go through by myself. I was lonely and didn’t know what to do. It was just God and me. And guess what. I found that I wasn’t without help. God was with me and He was my support. Sometimes it’s better to quit looking for someone to fill the spot that only God can fill.
Lord God, Thank You for being my SUPPORT. When no one else is there, or even if they are, You are the ultimate SUPPORT I need.

SUPPLIER
“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19
Do you ever feel empty or drained? What about anxious or uptight? Does mad or angry better describe you? Or sad and melancholy? Whatever our condition, whatever our need, we have a supplier. Short on perseverance? Ready to give up or cave in? Feel like you’re going to blow a fuse? Don’t know how you’ll ever smile again? Those are temporary, normal feelings that we can have at times. But if we’re a Christian, we have hope. God offers to supply all our needs according to HIS RICHES in GLORY in CHRIST JESUS. Don’t tightly clutch your downcast, angry, or discouraged feeling to your chest. Rather, open your hand and release it to God. Then take hold of what you need according to His supply of glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Heavenly Father, Thank You for being the SUPPLIER of all I need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus!

SUFFICIENT
“He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’”
2 Corinthians 12:9
An AT&T commercial recently asked a group of children, “Who thinks more is better than less?” A little girl quickly responded, “We want more. We want more.” We can identify with her when we are weak. What do we want? We want more of God’s grace. We want more of His power. God hears and answers, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” What does sufficient mean? Does it mean barely enough to get by? No. Rather, the Hebrew word means, “to be possessed of unfailing strength, to be strong, to suffice, to be enough.”* God Himself is the answer to our cry for more.
Heavenly Father, Thank You that in our weakness, You respond to our cry for more with the assurance that Your grace is SUFFICIENT (unfailing strength) and power is perfected in weakness.

STRONG TOWER
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
The righteous runs into it and is safe.”
Proverbs 18:10
Perspective. It’s everything. Look at the cup half empty and you’re prone to be a negative, depressed person. Look at it half full, and you go through your day with an optimistic attitude. But what if you could scale the heights of heaven and look at things from God’s perspective? What then? You would feel safe. You would see that God is in control. And that is the very invitation God gives us. Run into the strong tower of God’s name. See things from His heavenly watchful eye.
Heavenly Father, You are a STRONG TOWER. I can scale the heights of heaven as I praise Your name and know I am safe.

STRENGTH
“Blessed be the Lord,
Because He has heard the voice of my supplication.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him.”
Psalm 28:6-7
Do you ever feel weak or like you can’t go on – at least by yourself? Psalm 28:6-7 reminds us that we’re not alone. Nor do we have to do this thing called being a mother, spouse, widow, single person, or bread winner alone. We may be weak but God is our strength. Does your heart trust in God? If so, you’ll find help. And, you’ll find a trusting heart is a rejoicing heart and a thankful heart.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are always there and no matter how weak I feel, You are my STRENGTH. I love You and praise You!
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

SPIRIT of TRUTH
“When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth;…”
John 16:13
The TRUTH. When listening to the news, do you ever long for the truth? When questioning your child have you ever doubted their words and said, “Tell me the truth”? If you’ve been lied to, do you question if the person is telling you the truth? How refreshing that God is the Spirit of TRUTH. So when we question if we should do things our way or God’s, we have the answer. Follow the Spirit of Truth. When society tells us one thing, but it doesn’t line up with the Bible, who do we believe? God’s Word, for His voice is the Spirit of Truth.
Lord God, how refreshing that I can wholeheartedly trust You, the SPIRIT of TRUTH!

SOVEREIGN
“I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all thing, and of Christ Jesus, …that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He wil bring about at the proper time – He who is the blessed and only SOVEREIGN, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.
1 Timothy 6:13-16
Jesus is Sovereign; which by definition means a royal minister of great authority. In writing to Timothy, Paul reminds him of that fact and the importance of keeping the Sovereign’s commandments. With the reminder that Jesus is returning, Paul continues his accolades. He can’t stop praising the Lord Jesus Christ. Hopefully, neither can we.
Lord Jesus Christ, the blessed and only SOVEREIGN, I praise and worship You!

Mother’s Day in Prison
TOGETHER.
WE CAN HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE of MOMs & KIDS
Friends, I received the following letter yesterday from a mom at the God of Hope faith dorm in Lockhart prison where I spoke in January.
Dear Hill Country Ministries,
My name is Mendy & I’m in prison at Lockhart, Tx. Mrs. Williams came to our Faith Based Dorm a few months back, and she had quite an impact on folks here, her book is real talk. I’m indigent here I have no family they all have died. I was adopted and don’t know them either. What I would like to ask, is if you could send me that journal she wrote up. It will be for my kids to let them know that every day I thought about them, loved, & missed them very very much. So now I’ve been with the Lord almost 3 yrs. In this Faith Based Dorm and I just got a year before I get out. See I would just like to have something nice to give to them when I get out to reassure them of my love, & that I would never give up on them & that I would always be their mother and well I was just reading her book and was moved to write her. Williams book is & does help to guide & direct us just like we ask God to do, & He sent us her book.(Pray with Purpose, Live with Passion.)
I hope and pray I hear from you soon.
FRIENDS, needless to say, I’m zipping to the post office and putting Prayers of My Heart prayer journal in the mail to her!
But, her letter prompted me to realize that moms on the “outside” of prison have so many opportunities to read Christian parenting books. Those on the “inside” don’t. So, I would love to send moms in the prison where I spoke The Plan A MOM in a Plan B World for MOTHER’S DAY.
This is short notice. But, I just received her letter and the nudging in my heart was so strong, I thought I’d see if we could pull this off.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP

Thank you SO MUCH! God Bless, Debbie
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the opportunity to DO SOMETHING rather than just wring our hands at the state of our families. May each book IMPACT a mom for Christ. Then use her to IMPACT her children! In Jesus’s name, Amen.
SONG
“The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
This is my God, and I will praise Him;
My father’s God, and I will extol Him.”
Exodus 15:2
In the Hebrew language the word “song” can mean “music” or “melody.” I love that Moses says in effect, “The Lord is my melody. He’s the music to which I walk through my day.” What’s the music to which you walk? Is it a funeral procession? Is it a worldly beat or a forlorn love song of days gone by? Is it anger filled rap music? I want to join Moses and say, “The Lord is my strength and SONG.”
Heavenly Father, Thank You for being the SONG to which I can walk through my day. I love You!

SON of GOD
“And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet are like burnished bronze, says this: ‘I know your deeds, and your love and faith and service and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first. But I have this against you, that you tolerate…’”
Revelation 2:18-20a
We will one day see the SON of GOD! Eyes like a flame of fire. Feet like burnished bronze. Revelation 1:16 describes His face as “the sun shining in its strength.” Revelation 2:12 as having a sharp two-edged sword. We have seen God described as a Shepherd and Slow to Anger. But we must never forget that we are accountable to Him for our deeds, love, faith, service, perseverance, and what we tolerate that is unacceptable to Him.
Lord Jesus, SON of GOD, eyes like a flame of fire, feet like burnished bronze, sharp two-edged sword, You are worthy to be praised and obeyed.
