Victory In Christ
Help in Irrational Times

Do you ever feel like we are living in irrational times, that things are upside down? It’s not the first time. Think about Christ. He was pronounced not guilty, then crucified. How irrational was that? But Colossians 2:15 tells us Jesus triumphed over the irrational. He disarmed the rulers and authorities. He made a public display of them. And Christ is still triumphant even though we may not see it at certain times.
“When He (Jesus) had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him” (Colossians 2:15).
Jesus will right what is wrong. He will turn what is upside down right side up. That’s good news on a national and world level. It’s also good news for us personally. Christ, who triumphed over the grave, is able to triumph over the irrational in our lives.
Christ is the triumphant Lord. What do you need His help with today? He’s listening.
Lord, You are TRIUMPHANT over death, rulers, and authorities. You are triumphant over the irrational in my life. Help me live a holy life that reflects my confidence in You.

Whose Side Are You On?

Sides. Children learn the concept of “sides” at a young age. They’re on one side or the other of a field depending on whose team they are on.
As children grow older they learn about historical battles and those who fought on each side.
Hopefully, as children become teens and then adults they become more aware of another set of sides: God’s and the devil’s. Yes, the Bible explains that there are spiritual sides that battle over our souls.
The war between God and the devil was decided long ago with God decidedly the victor. Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection from the grave sealed the outcome of the war over man’s soul.
Isaiah 49:2 describes Jesus’ role in the battle over man’s soul calling Him a Select Arrow. “He has also made Me a select arrow, He has hidden Me in His quiver.”
Yes, Jesus was sent from God’s heavenly quiver to destroy the works of the devil and save our soul. Aren’t you thankful for Christ, the Select Arrow of God and for being on God the Father’s side?
Lord Jesus, God’s SELECT ARROW, thank You for coming to earth to destroy the works of the devil. Thank You for winning the battle over my soul. I love and praise You!

The Keeper of the Keys

“When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, ‘Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades” (Revelation 1:17-18).
Can you imagine what it was like for John to see the glorified Christ? To say that it was an overpowering experience is an understatement. John writes that “he fell like a dead man at Jesus’ feet.” John’s experience was more than a vision. Jesus placed His right hand on him. Then, Jesus assured John that although He had been dead, He was alive forevermore. In addition, He explained that He had the keys (power and authority) over death and Hades.
No doubt you feel as I do—blessed beyond words that Jesus has flung open the gate for us to enter into eternal life with Him!
Lord Jesus Christ, KEEPER OF THE KEYS OF DEATH AND HADES, I praise You and thank You for bringing me out of death and into Your eternal light!
