Praise to Christ, Who Is MEEK

“I, Paul, myself urge you by the MEEKNESS and gentleness of Christ—”

Christ’s nature amazes me. He is strong yet also MEEK. When Paul refers to Christ’s meekness, the word he uses means “mildness of disposition and gentleness of spirit.” Isn’t that interesting? The Savior who stopped Paul dead in his tracks when he was persecuting believers refers to Christ as meek. Do you think that means Paul knew Christ could have just as easily zapped him dead? Yes. Do you think it means Paul realized that Christ not only forgave him for what he had done, but then gave him meaningful, restorative work to do? Undoubtably.
The amazing thing about Christ is that He is all powerful, but He has a mild disposition. He dies for us. He forgives us. He prays for us. The all-powerful, holy Christ loves you. If you’ve strayed from Him, He welcomes you back with arms open wide. If you don’t feel worthy of His love because you’ve sinned one too many times, He already knows what you’ve done and forgives you. Won’t you respond to our amazing, meek Savior and run into His arms? He’s full of grace. He welcomes you. He waits for you.
Lord Jesus Christ, You are all powerful, but also MEEK; with a mild disposition toward us.  Please help us respond to Your gracious offer to forgive and restore us to Yourself.
